Is the red & white safety barrier still lying in the car park from my visit last summer? Oh yes.

Indifferent service, cremated 'snip & ping' microwave food, cloudy ale and a loud blonde (landlady?) slagging off her area manager at the bar - and for this treat I only had to pay 15.00 at lunchtime.

If you like this dreadful apology for a pub, go - if you don't, visit the Crown, Bray, Greene Oak, Windsor or the Beehive, White Waltham.

Visited the pub 2 weeks ago and this is what I thought..

The pub itself is nice if you want a quiet social chat. The music wasnt too loud and there were no TVs blasting Sky Sports in your face. Had no issues with the staff, they were all very friendly. The only problem I had (and this is a big one) is that I ate a tuna baguette which gave me food poisoning. It wasnt the worst I have had but kept me down for 2 days, and felt the effects of it for a further 2 days after that. Real shame as I would have gone back.

I don't know where these people have been dining, but I am really pleased with the Shepherds House. I have always been greeted with a smile, and the staff have all been very attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact going tonight to celebrate my birthday with all my family

Have to agree with several other reviewers.
If you avoid the people running it you can have a marvellous experience.
I was served by the man and he was ok - not rude or over friendly but the woman was very rude as experienced by others.
When my partner ordered our meals she ststed in a loud voice with a rude tone "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHICH MENU YOU ARE ORDERING OFF ?"
I would say this woman has the least grasp of customer service I have encountered in any eating/drinking establishment.
The strange twist is that everything elose was fine - the food was very good and the rest of the service was as well.
The attitude of this woman was the only downside but of course as you can imagine it put a dampener on our evening. Maybe acceptable (or even required) in a London pub but not what you expect in a country pub.
Certainly different to what we have recently encountered in the Leathern Bottle and the Warren since (both top class service).
