| We visited this pub on a Friday afternoon at 3pm, and found it welcoming and with a friendly atmosphere. The clientele was a mix of ages and everyone seemed to be having a good time without being too intrusive. The beer is McMullens which is not to everyone's taste, but my AK was well-kept and drinkable. Had a couple of very pleasant hours here, and this pub is definitely in Hitchin's top 5. | Good locals pub, with one room set aside for sport. Can be busy on big Rugby and Football occassions. Like the food here, all freshly prepared, but kitchin is not open all day and not Fri/Sat evenings. Beer is always excellent, the landlord keeps a good cellar. | I use the Coopers to watch sport and eat (the food is very good but pricey in my opinion) being a McMullens pub the beer is truly awful and the draught cider is of course Strongbow, which is also truly awful. Very good pint of Guinness but dear. GLR - 17 May 2012 15:33 |
