unfortunatly a recent refurb has killed off some of the historic charm to the interior. nothing special inside anymore.

just amazing inside. lovely wonky low beamed ceilng. i love the snug room at the front of the pub which fits up to 5 people nicely. i will happily walk all the way up from amersham just for the pleasure of sitting in this pub.

in the summer there are benched tables out the front under the tree and facing the cricket pitch, shared with the pub next door.this gives the brililant (and fairly unique) opportunity to swap between the two places for refills as you like.

Great pub, good selection of beer, welcoming attentive landlord/staff, good atmosphere. Served a delicious and perfectly cooked meal from al a carte menu. A cut above and excellent value IMHO. Reason? Quality food genuinely prepared on the premises, not fakeable. On a weekend break in the area, picked The Swan from their website and beerintheevening reviews. Feel we struck lucky, happy days.

We used to come here quite a lot, attracted by the village green setting and the Timothy Taylor Ale, but I have noticed how expensive drinks can be
here. I seem to remember a couple of earlier occaisions having been stung here, but not bothering to post anything, and putting it to the back of my mind (and forgetting it). I think 8.90 for a pint of TT, a J20 with soda, a packet of crisps and salted peanuts is outrageous! Nice ambience though.

Great little village pub overlooking the cricket pitch. Perfect for summer evenings. We visited here yesterday and also had a meal, which was well cooked and well presented. There's also 5 handpumps with only 4 in use on our visit - Hook Norton Summer Haze, Adnams Bitter, Brakspear Bitter and Taylor Landlord. Addlestones cider is also available. Marginally best of the 10 pubs we visited yesterday.
