Went to this pub restaurant with my wife for celebratory meal. Arrived home afterwards to have FIVE burly PCs on my doorstep asking for a breath test. I agreed. It was ZERO.
But it became clear the pub had called the police.
Yet at no point in the evening did I do anything to suggest I had been drinking. I actually have a bothersome ulcer that stops me drinking.
I was nothingother than polite to staff, was not loud, aggressive or disrespectful - nor did I leave the pub staggering. There was nothing in my behaviour to suggest I could be over the limit. Yet the waitress had clearly informed the manager, who called the police. Had I given staff any cause to be suspicious of how much I had drunk, I would be sympathetic. I would also see their side if they had warned customers that this is pub policy. There was no notice. Even the police have to warn you if they have speed cameras. At no point did staff or management approach me to tell me they thought I was over the limit and that they would be calling the police. It is an outrageous affront to freedom on their behalf. My wife phoned the manager, and she desribed him as being 'sheepish and apologetic'. I am disgusted by what they did and will never go there again. How would the staff there feel in similar circumstances?
Avoid this place if you want to avoid the same experience!

Has a slightly european atmosphere and funiture style but still a comfortable place. Wide range of dinner options and the pub side is run with friendly publicans. Only had John Smith's good tho.
