user reviews of the O Bar, Wellingborough

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

It's a bit strange this venue. By week a reasonable quality hotel and at the weekend a too loud and noisy venue for people who want to scream loudly.

I would dread to be staying in the hotel Friday or Saturday nights, the din from the middle storey disco must drive residents mad.

Years ago, it used to be the Cromwell Bar - and was quite a good venue then. Not quite sure who it pitches at now though - unless you want your music so loud you cannot communicate with mates or partners.

Was 10 x better 20yrs ago when it was the Cromwell Bar. Mr Johnson was a great Manager and Sarah & Liz the best bar staff you could ever wish for. Yes Cromwell was meant to of stayed there before the battle of Naseby while his troops slept in the Nene valley near Doddington. How many of you knew that the spiral staircase used to be hidden inside a wall and led from a secret panel in a room upstairs and down into the secret tunnels underground.

It's too loud!!! Perhaps I'm turning into an old fart, but it isn't the same as it was when it was just called 'The Hind'.

Historical pub with modern themes. Its rumoured that Oliver Cromwell drank there.
