user reviews of Bakers Arms, Bayford

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

About ten years ago I went into this pub just to see what it was like , as it was Bayford I had assumed it would be full of city chaps , and chapettes.

actually it was full of middle aged , shaven headed , spanner men wearing west ham football shirts talking about how to fit a door.

so if I ever need a new door fitted I know where to ask.

Decided to have an evening meal here rather than at the more expensive Farmers Boy , Brickendon.
Moderate choice of meals which tasted ok. Even less choice of beers,
McMullen's AK and Country - not helped by eating in a drab-decorated square room.

Recently refurbished by the new very friendly landlord, a great little country inn I wish them all the best in this venture....Mac's brew fewer beers these days but I had a great pint of AK!

Was only in here briefly on a long hike in and around nearby Broxbourne Woods, but it seems like a decent place. Most notable feature was a very long bar! I know people who have stayed here the night (it has rooms) and they raved about the food - serves great local sausages and mash apparently!
