'Walk in a stranger and stroll out a friend'. Chance would be a fine thing yesterday, as the pub was closed all day!

Nice and clean inside. Hardly surprising though it was dead. Maybe so.ething to do with the barmaid being as welcoming as a brick through your window on christmas morning. This together with the barmaid and friends/possible other staff sat outside the entrance glaring at anyone who dares to walk under the arch is enough to make anyone spend their money elsewhere. Nice big beer garden which is unfortunately ruined by the smell of fish from a neighbouring business plus the numerous amounts of dog mess in and around the very unstable picnic benches. POOR.

It's now under new management. It's still a proper pub and it's still worth going to, but now the food is really quite special. Don't go here if you want poncy little bits of flavoured I don't know what artistically arranged on your plate. Do go if you want a good, substantial, tasty traditional meal. Steve is doing a great job in the kitchen and he's recruited bar staff with a bit of personality and aptitude. It's still Badger beer, but then it is a Badger house. It's much better value than Wetherspoons, and the food is edible!

Popped in for a quick pint. Still very sterile following the post fire rebuild but pleasant enough. Pity that it has no guest beers on but the Badger was ok as a last resort.
