Looks closed now sadly. Had a good night in here once when Steve Perryman came down for a Spurs evening.

The pub has been closed for about 7 weeks, but it has reopened recently with a new licensee. The pub is a bit spartan at the moment with only 2 real ales on. Hopefully they will get some pictures up, get some interesting beers in and start doing food

Best Sunday lunch in area. Loads of fresh veggies, beaut roast potatoes and choice of 3 meats. Love it and will miss our Sundays when we go back to OZ. Mel is a great cook.
Quiz nights on Wednesdays are a laugh too.

My favourite pub in Hampton. Yes, it is a bit quirky and old-fashioned but it has genuine atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced and they sell beers from Twickenham Fine Ales - yum! Definately a locals pub but everyone is very friendly. It's always a pleasant experience coming here.

Had a great Sunday roast last week ..all home cooked by the landlady herself. Not many places you can get a real Sunday roast for under a tenner.Very friendly atmosphere..even the parrot said hello.Good pint of Pride.Dont think its weird...but if weird is being a bit different thaen great..I think fulltummy would be better off in Wetherspoons or some other chrome plated characterless cocktail bar.Sure there are pictures of Tin Tin on the wall and a few statues but didnt really notice until the kids pointed them out.A great thing having the back room with the pool table in....where they belong ...keeps the kids out of the way.The film posters are great in there. We spent a very nice couple of hours there and will return.

A unique loads of atmosphere old fashioned pub, the owners are brilliant (out of this world) have to disagree with the comment by lyeemoon (whoever they are, they must be really anally retentive!). Mel and John give you a warm welcome. Pub is full of interesting characters that make everybody welcome. If channel four got hold of this pub theyd make a series that would knock the spots of their last series about Notting Hill.
Dinners on Sunday are to die for, Gordan Ramsey go and get a lesson about how to cook a good Sunday roast, I suggest you visit this pub on a Sunday.
Good quiz on Wednesday and Poker night on Thursday. Live music on some Fridays.
This is the lost gem of Hampton, By pass the village and head for this place. Don't even bother supping in the other pubs in this area head straight for the Dukes, you will not be disappointed.
As the advert says.. If Carlsberg made pubs, this is the perfect pub.

Not chavvy. A quirky local pub with three ales on including one from Twickenham Fine Ales, just on the edge of Bushy Park. Has bands on from time to time and is well liked locally.

Nice enough place, no complaints

WEIRD, this pub is WEIRD! It looks amazing and it has its own trail from Bushy Park but unless you luuuurrrvvveee Tin Tin just dont go in. Its not all it seems! Its very local-tastic and felt a bit chavvy. Also was too hard getting served.

Looked good from the outside, at lunhtime time on a Monday. Unfortunately (for me anyway) it doesn't open until 3.00PM Monday to Thursday so didn't get to see the inside. Will try again sometime.

Yes the parrot was found all safe and well after 12 weeks i am told.
rapunzel1 - 16 Sep 2009 12:02
Does anyone know if the parrot was found? It pulled a lovely pint for pretty boys...

Strange as I sneaked in for a swift pint the other Friday. The beer was great ,Twickenham local brew.Nice atmosphere ,friendly locals including the parrot.Smashing landlady who persuaded me to come in for a Sunday lunch, which I did.Took the MRS and the lunch was bril.Nice to be able to go out to a family local pub on a Sunday that does not have sky soccer blasting out whilst you eat.A great friendly local pub that the area needs.

Nasty tasting bitter. Had to liven it up with a bottle of lager ffs !!!
Wouldnt go back.

Not sure how this pub justifies such a high rating. Granted that Saturday lunchtime may not be the best time to judge but in my view it's not a patch on the Jolly Coopers down the road. It's all very tacky and unwholesome inside with St George's cross cushions and a foul mouthed very scruffy landlady who obviously doesn't realise that Hampton is an opulent village. Redeeming feature was a good pint of Twickenham Naked Ladies.

Extremely smoky. One to leave for the summer.

Live music every Fri & Sat is being set up in the "Sound Box" to the rear of this great pub. First gig is the Iain Terry Band on stage 9pm on Fri 8th Dec 2006. Late 2am license. Top bands every week. Tel Nat of Sound Box Promtions on 07966 519844 for gig information

I've lived in Hampton most of my life and this has always been the best pub by a mile. The beer is always in excellent condition especially Courage Best. Superb location right by Bushy Park and Hampton Pool with a fine courtyard garden. Very friendly staff and locals. A fine pub for a quiet pint.

Shhh! Don't tell everyone what a great pub this can be. Beer is usually in lovely condition and the staff are very friendly. The place could do with a makeover and I overheard that it might be another Hampton pub that will be turned into flats. Let's hope not.

Best of both worlds - proper old roaring fire kind of pub in front with spectacularly good food in the restaurant section at the back. Really friendly bar staff, my pub of choice in Hampton.
