Decent old-fashioned working men's boozer near Shepherd's Bush Market. Cracking pint of Guinness but sadly no real ales. Screens showing the football, pool table at the back and lots of Newcastle United paraphernalia. We watched Chelsea vs Sunderland and enjoyed a few pints in a convivial atmosphere. Friendly bar staff too.

No nonsense pub which is probably the best in SB. Real regulars feel with working class punters and characters from all walks of life who are happy to have a laugh with non-regulars. Geordie landlord is direct but treats everyone with respect. Furniture is extremely dated(circa 1981) but adds to the character of the pub. Horse racing is all the rage during the day, ladbrokes slips can be obtained from behind the bar, but doesn't dominate. Beer is cheap and the guinness has always been top notch on my visits. Nice beer garden.
The kind of pub where you half expect Arthur Daley to walk through the doors at any minute.

Somewhat dark, dingy, unrefined, vaguely unclean and down at heel feeling in this pub with lots of daytime solitary drinking going on. That said here there are very pleasant and kind hearted bar staff along with a great atmosphere pre the QPR games. Good beer.
Likeable pub, all told.

Just about the perfect pre match pub. I get to see Rangers a couple of times a season so I go in with my season ticket holding mates. There was plenty of staff so there was no waiting and the IPA was fine. TVs kept us up to date of events elsewhere.
Many modern people would turn their noses up at this sort of pub, but give me one like this with characters and atmosphere than soft lighting, furnishings and awful background music any time.

Only GK IPA so had a pint of Stella. Your average Joe's kind of pub with a pool table and sports on. Has QPR/Newcastle United/England/Celtic stuff on the walls (and ceiling). Got a bit more adventurous after a few games of pool and tried the GK IPA - wish I hadn't and reverted to lager. We only really stayed onhere because it was lashing down with rain. I suppose at least it's not crammed and standing room only like the pubs on the Green.

the white horse is the best pub ive been in, in london the regulars are the best bunch of people you could every meet the drinks are so cheap and the beer garden is immaculate gets cleaned at least twice an hour for fag buts which is the best ive seen around here the bar bar staff and mary (landlady) are the most genuine people you could evey meet i will be coming back here at least few times a week because ive never been to a more friendly atmosphere.

The White Horse of Shepherds Bush, most definitely not to be confused with The White Horse of Parsons Green. If the Parsons Green WH is referred to as the Sloaney Pony, any suggestions to what the Bush WH should be known as....

Looks absolutely nothing from the front; in fact, I walked past it many times without really realising that it was a pub. Inside, it is rather larger than one would expect, with a curious 'L'-shaped bar (where the customers are located 'inside' the 'L') as the room extends behind the adjacent building. Rough and ready in terms of decor (and some of the customers), and it retains an old-fashioned 'working mans' feel with a mixture of Irish and North East influences and racing on the television screens. One handpump, serving a decent-enough pint of Greene King IPA. Pool table and reasonable beer garden. Overall, quite a refreshing change from the pubs around Shepherds Bush Green, and handy for a pint if visiting the Empire or Bush Hall.

IVE BEEN GOING ON AND OFF TO THE WHITE HORSE FOR 33 YEARS+. IVE YET TO SEE A PUB WITH THE SAME ATMOSPHERE AND SPIRIT. YES THERE HAS BEEN CHANGES OVER THE YEARS, WHAT DOESN'T CHANGE IN THAT MANY YEARS. IT STILL IS YOUR LOCAL OF LOCALS IF YOU WANT A QUIET DRINK YOU CAN HAVE ONE IF YOU WANT TO CHAT WITH THE LADS THEY WILL CHAT ,PLAY POOL, A GAME OF CARDS, DOMINOES, OR JUST A READ IN THE BEER GARDEN ITS ALL THERE. ITS A WELL RUN PUB WITH GOOD LINKS FOR THE LOCALS ON BUSY MATCH DAYS NEVER TURNED AWAY EVEN WHEN CELTIC PLAYED QPR WHAT A GREAT DAY THAT WAS SINGING ALL DAY LONG NOT ONE ROW. TO MY KNOWLEDGE WAS ABOUT THE ONLY PUB IN THE AREA THAT DIDNT HAVE ANY TROUBLE. WELL DONE MARY (LANDLADY) OH AND CHRIS. KEEP IT UP

The quaint arched frontage (complete with built in Mile Stone) somewhat disguises the Tardis like but rather oddly laid out interior. Essentially an Irish pub with flags proudly displayed and snippets of the Emerald Isles finer assets but not as intimidating, unwelcoming or cliquey as some Irish pubs that I have ncountered. Unusually they serve a Real Ale albeit Green King IPA of varying quality across my occasional visits but cheap at 2.20 a pint. The carpeted main area at the front has paneled walls, pew seats and a rather tatty and worn in feel. 2 plasma screens generally show sport. The rear bar, almost hidden by large supporting columns, is lined with more pew seating but is dominated by the pool table which makes the seating rather impractical. The bar itself is rather awkwardly placed and not very user friendly, especially when people are sitting up against it. There always seems to be a game of dominoes going on and from the photos of the locals on the wall, everything seems to be geared towards a harmonius customer base albeit some clients can often be found in various stages of alcoholic decline even though from my experiences they cause lttle in the way of nuisance value. Whilst I woudnt go too far out of my way for a visit, the pub is handy for QPR, Bush Hall & Shepherd Bush Empire and if you fancy cheap pubs with no airs or graces that are a bit frayed around the edges and youre not too fussy with the beer selection, you could find worse places to kill an hour.

A fairly rough-and-ready but not unpleasant locals' pub at the Shepherds Bush end of Uxbridge Road.

Up for sale apparently?

This has been a great little pub for years as it does the basics simply. Beer reasonably priced and a decent ponce-free atmosphere. If you're into your pool the table mentioned earlier is a beauty, 3/4 snooker table size and the standard in the pub is pretty high. It's easy to miss the place completely as it's sandwiched in between Blockbusters and another shop. Rammed when Rangers are at home but worth sticking around until the crowd slacks off. There's a karaoke there sometimes and the bloke who runs it can be a bit of a wand but that's trivial.

I ended up in this pub after a gig last Friday.
What a find!
Stained, strained and strangely grotto-like, with a Pool Quiz machine from the late-80s. Not intentionally retro, but brilliantly and unashamedly not moving with the times.
And "live" music! I think the performer, Donna (?), booked for that night was absolutely brilliant. Singing her heart out to backing tracks provided by a karaoke man. We want more of that in pubs!
The staff were only so-so, but it's the regulars that make a pub. How a bar can be so wrong and yet so right is beyond me.
Definitely worth checking out after a gig at Bush Hall.
Will be back.

Great QPR pub, great to see live music .Fantastic beergarden there now .Will be great for the smoking ban.It is nice to see that the local pub still lives on

Great little quite pub this.
Not one you would go to party in on a Friday or Saturday night but perfect for a quite couple off drinks and a game of pool.
The Guiness is great and cheap and the pool table is perfect.
|
This is the type of pub I want to live close to and be classed as a 'regular' amongst the other 'regulars'. I concur with all said herein about the place and only wish there were still a few more of these 'genuine' pubs around, instead of the plastic and plywood we are used to these days - and I'm not just referring to the buildings!!

the real thing - a proper pub, with normal folk going about their business (horse racing and Irish sports, etc) - good value and no bruschetta on the menu, thank the Lord.
Don't go changin'.

A real regulars pub although you wont be given the cold shoulder. Cheap enough and has character although can be smokey at times.

A real pub with so much character that you can scrape it off the walls - with a scrubber. No women or middle/upper class people allowed. Probably.
Cheap and cheerful - I think the near undrinkable IPA is still under 1.50, but the big bottles of magners are under 3 (which is very rare) and I'm told the Guinness is superb.
It also has what is definitely the best pub pool table I've seen in London, and possibly the best in the country.
And one of the worst juke boxes.

mad pub, with big screen horse-racing, full of gamblers. strange atmosphere, but not unfriendly. oh, and the cheapest round i have ever bought in london.
