please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Brilliant - two excellent Caveman beers plus three other handpumps and a huge bottled choice as well. Very friendly barman, they even arranged a quick tour of the brewery and a taste of the Citra. Perfect pre-or-post match pub for Ebbsfleet Utd (10 min walk downhill to the ground). Going to recommend the Caveman beers to some of my other local pubs....

A real man's pub? I'd say a real ale pub for either gender, actually. They've given the local area something to cherish at last. The pub even has it's own brewery - Caveman. Great choice of ales on pump and in bottles. Friendly and completely unpretentious. And no, I don't work there.

A real man's pub. The perfect town pub. Excellent range of ales on tap and kegs of cider. I really wish I was able to stay longer, Will certainly be visiting again. Fantastic

I took ten chaps here for good food and fine ale.. both superb.. Bron is a proper landlady and is superb. I love what they are trying to create here... The Bull in Horton K nearby is sadly run down, buy this is exactly the model that the former owners used to bring aficionados from miles around. It was like meeting old friends who had no where to play since the Bull's demise... support this pub.. I'd kill to have one close to me, but i'm happy to travel for the ale, food and company. Well done Bob and Bron... stick at it.. Its a business model that works!

Paid my first visit last week and was most impressed. Very friendly staff and locals and great beer. The best new pub to open in Kent for years.

My Partner and I first visited this pub on Christmas day and as the saying goes "We have never looked back!" We love the warm and friendly atmosphere you get whenever you walk in their! Christmas day came and my partner suggested we took alook at the new pub up the road that had been transformed outside into a great looking place where you think "I've got to go in and find out more!" We went in were greeted by Bob and Bron at the bar with "Happy Christmas" and then we had a taste of the many local beers they have to offer and then chatted and looked around to see a real log fire burning and comfy leather sofa's and it was as if you never left home! They are great hosts and we have become regulars going there a couple of time a week and also for special events like the jubilee weekend and Armed Forces day etc and it beats any pub around Swanscombe and beyond for friendly atmosphere and good value for money and just haveing a chat with friends which we have made many off! As quite a few know I enter competitions a lot and this is a Winner compared to the Competition! Thanks Bob and Bron and all your friendly staff on a great pub thats like being home from home!

With 8 casks ales 2 of them porters, and some cloudy cider (drunk by the younger punters)
you can see the website wasn't lying. This is far from an average pub, not gastro, not just a local, but a pub that is in it's own class around the Dartford area. Friendly locals, welcoming licensees, and even a pub dog. Even the decor has it's nice touches with RAF and Luftwaffe posters side by side. I hope the formula doesn't change as it's worked for me. I also hope it gets the custom it deserves as the area really needs this pleasant change.

I had my first visit here for Armed Forces Day 30th June 2012 and I had one of the best nights out in a pub I think ever. Bob and Bron are top hosts with the best offer of real ales I have ever seen, it put any beer fest I've been to to shame. A choice of 8 hand pulled ales that change often I'm told with a good selection of ciders, one called Magic Bus! The crowd for the evening were a very mixed bunch but they made us feel like we'd been regulars for years.

Don't be fooled by the outside it's an on going project and I can't wait to see what happens in the future. Please put this one on your list to visit if your ever nearby, hopefully it won't disappoint.

Opening a Real Ale pub in a place like Swanscombe is always gonna be risky, BUT Im pleased to say the new owners Bob And Bron have got away with it! Dont be put off because of the pubs location this place really works well! Top Quality Ales from all The top Micro breweries Marble, Darkstar, Oakham, Fynne, Thornbridge, SWB, Brewdog etc... And all in top Quality condition! Also a great range off Bottled beers. So if You like good beer at a good price and good company look no further. Oh and as a bonus the Train station is less than a minute away and the bus stop even closer!

I made the trip from London Waterloo East to Swanscombe after a friend recommended this pub from the 1800s following its recent revolution. The bar is, at present, fairly compact but this adds to its charm and the staff are extremely welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of ales, stouts and porters, both bottled and cask, available as a reward to the well-travelled visitor. It was obvious, too, that the new owners have an interest in real ale, discussing the beer and the brewing processes while inviting drinkers to taste. I was advised to try a bottle of Odell5 Barrel Pale Ale and a pint of Oakham Bishops Farewell, both were delicious. I will be heading back The George and Dragon very soon.

Just reopened after a major renovation by its new owners and it's looking fantastic. Great to have a pub in the area that offers something other than cheap lager. When I visited on Friday night they had a couple of lovely Oakham Ales on, alongside Doom Bar and a couple of Meantime beers - plus three fridges full of bottled beers, which included a couple of brilliant IPAs by The Kernel and some lovely US craft beer. They've also got a few decent lagers. All in all, not exactly the sort of pub you expect to find in the area. Well worth a trip down from London - especially since it's only 2mins walk from Swanscombe station.

I have drank in there on a few occasions and have always found it a pleasant enough. Friendly staff, good beers and decent decor.
Few rough diamonds in there but they don't bother you and they certainly do not spoil an enjoyable evening. Most pubs in swanscombe are like a jeremy kyle show waiting room, this at least seems to be a proper boozer, not a single mothers social club

It's a proper boozer and I got the impression that a few dodgy deals are struck here - even the quiz machine contained hooky versions of the proper games! That said, it was friendly enough when we visited.
