Visited last week and was very impressed. Beer quality excellent and found the place so welcoming and friendly decided to eat there. Was not dissappointed as the food was delicious and plentiful. Having read the one really bad review I was a bit dubious but I often suspect one bad review among several good ones is a local rival. What say you?

Pleased to say that the excellent standards of food and service were still evident when we returned twice last week...I had the roast beef and Banoffi pie each time as they were so delicious first time round. Good value too, one course 8.95, andn if you have pud or starter , only 10.95.Add another 2 for three courses.

Excellent accommodation, beer and food. Suggest it's a good idea to check out opening times though, before visiting.

Shocking customer service. Would advise others to stay away from this pub. After driving for nearly 3 hours on a Friday night to stay in the pub for two nights, we arrived to be told that they had a booking for one night only. Straight away the blame was put on ourselves and no attempt at an apology made. The manager, who was dealing with us, showed a total lack of interest and people skills. Obviously they could make more money out of larger parties who had come for the Gran Prix at Silverstone and so we believe bumped our booking!

It was nice to come back here again, after not visiting for a few years. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely, and generous portions. I would recommend the treacle tart which was very treacley, and more of a deep-fill pie than a tart!

The Hooky Best and Old Hooky were both on. The Old Hooky was nice, but there was something slighly different about the taste to usual. Perhaps it was just fresh from a new barrel. If I didn't know the beer quite well, I probably wouldn't have noticed, as it wasn't unpleasant, just a little bit different. Perhaps I should have checked it with another pint. Sadly, I had to go before I could do that.

I shall save the second pint for another time, instead, and shall certainly come back again.

Had two excellent meals here when staying nearby for weekend.
Very good quality and value for money. Wish we lived nearer so that we could go more frequently.

Amazing food, great bitter and lager, pleasent and efficient bar staff, nice garden and great sunday lunch take aways.
Top notch!
And the puddings are to die for!

Been here lots of times as family nearby. Its a gamble everytime - sometimes good, sometimes dreadful. Hmm...

Only one real ale available on the bar, Hooky Bitter, so I ordered a pint of that. I took it to my table to wait for my meal to arrive. The beer was hazy (to say the least) and it tasted 'tinny'. When my starter arrived I pointed out to the waitress that the beer wasn't very good and she asked if I wanted something else so I asked for a glass of wine. The wine never arrived and the beer, which remained on our table for the duration, appeared on the bill!

Bread to accompany my soup arrived as I was just finishing it and the service was 'slack'.

I was very dissapointed with the beer, both offer and quality, and the service was almost as bad!

Stayed here for two nights last weekend, the choice of B&B was more or less forced upon us, a very lucky accident.
The beer was excellent, although the choice, Hooky Bitter and Old Hooky, was limited and a bit 'samey'. The quality of the food was equal to that of the beer and seems to be well appreciated as the restaurant was full Sat lunchtime and evening as well as Sun lunch. Cant get in? buy a takeaway roast dinner, lots do.
All in all, a cheerful, down to earth, honest and hardworking establishment that truly knows how to make you welcome, whether you come for a pint, a meal or to stay the weekend.

I'm not sure how this pub servives. It only ever appears busy on Sunday. Beer is OK, well it's Hooky, but the locals language can spoil an otherwise pleasant visit.

If you enjoy a good home cooked sunday roast or a meal that's different, then this is the place to go.

Never had a bad meal yet, staff seem friendly and it's always pretty busy.

Worth a drive out.

This is a hardworking pub. It serves decent Hook Norton beer and homemade food. There is a good mix of locals and visitors. Very large garden perfect for children. Facilities to camp and caravan. Down to earth with ordinary drinkers on one hand : the sort of place you can take visitors for dinner on the other. A good time was had by all.
