A pub which caters for youngsters. So if you are not one then I would recommend not visiting. This pub tries to be something it isn't - a fun pub.Yes,the entertainment is varied but there is trouble here and they employ door men / security - which tells you something!

Visited this Pub last night Wanted a Pint of Ringwood Bitter but unfortunately was in the process of having the Barrel changed, so went fo Sharps Doombar which also had just been changed. Nice pint but a Tad Cold meaning it was flatish. Busy pub mainly for the younger crowd. Had door open at eight o'clock at night and the Patio was full of smokers and the pub cold. Food looked reasonably priced but did not see anyone eating. I felt that there was an atmoshpher in there and as such will not be keen on returning sorry.

Visited over Easter 2010. With the wife and sons 17 & 19
Got thrown out! As one of the Marx Brothers said " I wouldnt want to belong to any club that would have me as a member"
They were very pleasant, they dont allow 17 year olds in after 9pm.
Bit of a pain as we had driven quite a distance to hear some live music. Which sounded pretty good.
Will try again next year.

The Rydal Arms is a warm welcoming public house for ALL to enjoy!
The menu is fantastic for a pub, if you require specialist dishes, might be best to try a restaurant and not a pub who will cater for all!
The staff are fantastic and will do anything to make your visit a pleasant one. I would recommend this pub to anyone, a new visitor or an old local!!!
I have enjoyed a Friday night with the disco and have also taken my grandmother for coffee during the day....The staff make the Rydal special and a safe comfortable place to be.
Give it a try!!

Not a nice place to go, lots of youngsters drinking themselves silly and you feel threatened if your seen as not a regular. Food wasnt that special either.

Ventured into what used to be my local a long time ago.Although busy as the only pub in the town centre, newcombers be ware! Not many seats inside and tries to be trendy but lacks in welcoming customers. When I visited the toilet there was dealing going on.Not even discreet.Atmosphere was very tense and we guess that having to put someone on the door then this place must have trouble. We didn't stay long as we felt uncomfortable.
If this place can get rid of it's bad clientele and clean up it's image then maybe it can get a better review.

Visited this pub for the first time on Saturday 13th May as i've just bought a property in the area and i was looking for the places to go before i move in. WOW! Top pub, excellent service from all the staff, nice jovial atmosphere, beer seemed well looked after. To top it all, an enjoyable live band at a volume which was to be enjoyed not endured! Brilliant pub, this is most likely going to be my regular watering hole when i move in a few months time.

what can i say? a grade A pub! a wonderful atmosphere for young and old a like, great food from an up and coming chef (all be it a little expensive) great live music on thursdays and saturdays and a nice beer garden surrounding the premises. and the staff also have to be commented on, they are always willing to talk to you and have a laugh. it is without a doubt the best pub for miles around.

Great and friendly pub - we try to visit if we are in the area - all over 55 yo but love the place as much as the obviously younger drinkers - does really nice food - non of your usual samey menus. One thing they need to attend to is the loos, very clean but no lock on gents and no seat ( i am told ) in the ladies !!
