May have changed hands. Unfriendly, unhelpful, poor food. Cheap. Used to be really nice pub. Shame.

Terrific pub. Beer is reasonably priced, the food is really good value (try the all day breakfast; its huge), the staff are friendly and efficient. All in all a great little pub.

Nothing wrong with this pub. I had an overnight stay in Horley before flying out from Gatwick and found this to be a cracking, lively local. Good service, good beers and not over-priced.

Kev m8...wot are you on, today?

I used to seriously dislike this pub, however I have changed my views somewhat.

Having used the pub during the day I have to say the beer is now okay, the prices are not too shabby and the barmaid is pretty good to look at as well.

I use this pub when it's quiet before noon during the week. Smashing staff and service. Some very well kept beer too. Long may it continue.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon when football was on the television.

Beer choice wasn’t great but the service was faultless.

Cannot comment on the clientele as they seemed fine to me, but I only stopped for 2 pints.

Suspect clientele & suspect draught Ale. Food not too bad though.

Lively town pub a bit rowdy over the weekend. A few decent ales on offer and quite cheap so has its good points. Quite good for an early evening drink. Loud music at the weekend makes it difficult to relax and chat as the evening goes on. Stumbling past the narrow bar area to get to the loos can be annoying. Ladies loo is not good apparently! Good and bad points here really.

Not a bad pub, although I wish they would let people know that they are holding a gay night so that customers can then decide if they want to leave before the whole place gets taken over with bottom enthusiasts. Good for watching sport on TV

Great pub, if you want a fight on a Friday night.

Crap beer and dodgy atmos, avoid.
kevmac - 14 Mar 2010 22:31
Decent pint of Black Sheep & they also had London Pride. TV screens were very much in your face - a pub very much for the youthful members of society, although the ales suggest there are exceptions.

Greatly improved since the new landlord took over, you can actually get a pint of decent ale now which always helps!

not overly friendly atmosphere but a decent pint of harviestoun was enjoyed here few weeks back,6/10

Rowdy pub but outside areas OK and have adequate heating. Blaring music in the evening make conversation a no-no, and there is a general undercurrent of hostility. Drinks are good value if your sole aim is getting bladdered and shouting and screaming. Probably the worst pub in Horley, and that's saying something.

Sparse choice of beers, no real ales, a nice threat of violence when you enter and beer always split everywhere. Decor is poor and the intelligence of the patrons could be questioned....naff pub, no atmosphere...unless you fancy a fight

Large and basic but the staff are friendly, beer good and service always quick. Food is cheap and basic pub fayre but served quickly and good value.
peterwarlock - 26 Aug 2008 08:38
Always has a good atmosphere at any time of day. Food reasonable and comes out fresh and hot (well not the salads of course). Beer is usual stuff - could do with a few more real ones for choice. Staff always attentive even when busy.

Went in on Saturday after watching the rugby, Busy but good atmosphere, doormen on duty keeping rif-raf in check. IPA on special @1.52 a pint

Quiet during the day which means you can get a decent meal pretty quickly. Beer ok, Guinness is probably the best kept in town. Lovely staff. Gets very busy Friday & Saturday night, DJ plays good mix of old & new stuff. Not posh, not trendy, but gets my vote for best pub in Horley.
JackoWHU - 22 Sep 2007 14:58
Friendly and helpful staff suffering some boorish clientele. A bit pricey given that a pint of a well known brand of fizzy cider costs 46p more than at the major bar in the departure lounge of nearby Gatwick Airport. Certainly busy but not a lot of competition in Horley.
stropmag - 19 Nov 2006 21:29
All keg weatherboaded multi-roomed pub. Comfortable but anonymous. Boring.

many years ago this pub used to be split in two, with one side being a cafe run by two dear old ladies. There was a bus station nearby, and I used wait in the cafe with my mum for the bus to Crawley.
