I never realised there was a pub here until I actually arrived! And, to confirm the comments below, WOW!!! What a setting... we visited on possibly the most storm ravaged day of the year, so we're equally cursed and blessed. Bar is ro the right as you enter, and I enjoyed a nice Dartmoor Legend, although there were a couple more real ales.. Definitely recommended.

Amazing setting and well worth the walk or drive down from Hartland.
Beers were Tribute and Dartmoor Legend - both well kept and enjoyable if a little uninspired for the location - and food fairly standard but reasonably priced pub fayre.

Great location, especially on a sunny evening. Just a shame you have to sit outside to enjoy it - the view from the pub itself is restricted by the outbuildings! Not surprisingly, considering it's location, lots of families and children so I'd certainly avoid it in July/August. The beer quality was good; I had the Dartmoor Legend which is as close as they have to a local beer. The food is OK, in the 'chips with everything' category, but at least it's reasonably priced.

If you find a better pub with views please tell me. Spectacular! Pub was busy yet comfortable. Fairly priced considering the location. 8.5/10.

WOW! What a spectactcular setting for a pub.
The scenery is world class here and it's far enough away from the busy tacky costal resorts.
My father and i did a nine mile walk one summer evening and stopped here for a few beers on the route. Great memories here and although it was great on a summers day i'm sure it would be equally impressive during a force 10 storm!

10/10

Amazing setting for a pint and a quick bite. Unfortunately the sun wasn't shining on our recent Saturday lunchtime visit but that kind of adds to the atmosphere of the place. Windy little lanes lead down to the hotel which is surrounded by stunning cliffs with its own beach and amazing sea views. Choice of beers etc and reasonably priced food. Try the fishermans lunch, soup, bread and a big hunk of cheese and wash it down with local west country ale. Perfect.

Must be one of the most spectacular settings in which to enjoy a pint. Sitting in the sun enjoying a perfectly - kept pint of Tribute makes you glad to be British. Just brilliant.

My absolute fav bar anywhere. Great staff, great locals who really don't seem to mind visitors. Would like to see a real cider behind the bar as in days of old. Food is good value and well cooked, very informal, full of children, dogs and friendly people. This is the place to relax, think about life and wind right down. The best bar ever?

Spectacular place to have a beer or three, especially when the sea is up.
Great setting, good beer and food. Love it.

All previous reviews are spot on. This is a gem of a place. We were walking the coast path and arrived a bit tired. They were so welcoming, and do stay there if you can. The rooms are lovely with super bay window views over the sea. Good range of beer; friendly helpful staff, pleasant food. Well worth seeking out. Not expensive either.

Utterly breathtaking location at the bottom of a slope surrounded by majestic cliffs and crazy jagged rocks sticking out of the sea. The staff are friendly and helpful, the menu and beers looked good but on this occasion the recommendation comes from the fact that we had what is undeniably the very finest cream tea I have ever had, and I've had a few!! If you are in this part of Devon this place is an absolute must! Be aware that you will need 1.50 to drive down the cliff road to the car park beside the hotel, cheap at the price I reckon!
