Much smarter than the pub next door and much more expensive
Very large outdoor area including a covered section where most people sat
Barmaid was polite and if you come across this pub on the edge of the town I’d recommend it

The 2nd pub I wanted to visit in Teignmouth is this back street local towards the docks.

They had 6 ales and 2 real ciders on across the 8 hand pumps during my Sunday afternoon visit. My pint of Bays Tall Order @ 4.3% was alright, but tasted a bit vinegary.

One small bar inside with a pool table and a couple of televisions and a smattering of tables and chairs. MY friend tells me that place hasn’t changed since the 80’s apart from the pool table being added!

Not many punters inside with most of them sat outside on the large patio / smoking area enjoying the end of August sunshine.

A decent little back street pub that was doing a decent trade and certainly looks a better choice for a beer than the nearby Teign Brewery!

Once my favourite pub when visiting Teignmouth it had gone down hill in recent years, still good beer, but pricey, it was slowly losing its regulars and atmosphere.

The landlord of some twenty years, Paul Fellows, sold up in May 2013 and it will be some time before a genuine review can be made of the new owners and their ability to improve on the range of beers offered and get back the 'Blue's' old customers and add new ones. Watch this space!

I was a bit disappointed with this pub after reading the reviews written on here.
It was lacking a bit of atmoshere inside and thought 3.30 for a pint of yellow hammer (which was very nice!) was a bit steep.

6/10

A very decent pint of Keltek "Golden Lance" was quaffed here in the sunny patio last week. Not a bad ale pub at all maybe just a tad pricey,7/10

Stumbled upon this small pub by accident while looking for somewhere to park for a couple of hours to look around Teignmouth and do a spot of crabbing on the Quay with family.
Superb choice and quality of ales. Mostly local brews. Tried the Dartmoor Legend and the South Hams Devon Pride. Both in great nick. Nice outdoor seating area with reclining loungers and a large blue anchor!

Best pub in Tinners. Yes you may hear some swearing, I can't think of any public environment where I have never heard any swearing. The important bits; the beers, always a good selection of local and guest, well kept and served by knowledable pleasant staff. Yes there is a telly, I have only ever seen it on for the rugby. If you need the toilet follow your nose, at least there is chalk in there for writing on the wall.

The locals of the Ship were correct, this is a crackin pub. What a pub! Local brew after local brew. All in tip top condition. Its only a small edge of town pub but the place was packed full of Proper beer drinkers. Would have loved to stay but our train home to Totnes was going to leave us behind. The best pub in the town by a mile. A hidden gem we could so easily have past it by. Well done.

Best pub in Teignmouth by far- friendly atmosphere and great choice of interesting beer. Notable that they had Fuller's ESB in as a guest and not Pride- shows a bit of imagination in my book!

This is the only pub in Teignmouth that you can guarantee getting a first class real ale every time. There is normally six to choose from with varying strengths. I have found the bar staff and the locals pleasant and freindly. Good pool table. Good juke box. I didn't notice any strong language. Only bad point is that the gents toilet can get a bit pungent.

A real locals pub, (both with character) which also welcomes visiters. For 6 real ales in excellent condition this is unquestionabley the best pub in Teignmouth. It's small and cosy(log fire in winter)with a pool table in one half of the bar. Can be busy Friday/Saturday nights but excellent and friendly at other times. The occasional visiting european sailer gives the place a rare cosmopolitan feel. As a real pub it doesn't do food beyond that old time rarity the cheese/ham sarny under a cover.

Visited this pleasant down-to-earth town pub at lunchtime on Saturday 24th June. Excellent range of six real ales on tap, including a superb wheat beer from O'Hanlon's which was very welcome on such a hot day. The locals were friendly, not foul-mouthed in the least! Yes there is a pool table but there was no sign of the ubiquitous satellite tv which usually accompanies the worst type of pub; I don't even recall any reference to the footer, another definite plus. Quite the best pub I've visited in Teignmouth, will be back again.

This is a right 'rough and ready' pub. One half of the pub is dedicated to a pool table, all the seats and tables are crammed into the other half. I can't say I cared for the sort of people in there and the language they used (including the women). The beer range is fine, there is a good selection of real ales ranging from 3.6% to 5% and they were well served. Pity about the customers, though.
