Stayed here for one night. Friendly bunch. Had a couple of very good pints and the Thai food was fine. Not cheap though! Accomodation was very good for a small local pub as was the breakfast. I'd go back there.

The menu states "The Cornish Arms Thai Chef Supal Seeling is a highly trained and respected chef with over 30 years experience" but the so-called Thai food is poor and expensive compared to restaurants. Pictures on their website look nothing like actual dishes. Certainly not prepared with ingredients or care you would expect at the price.
Owner was unapologetic about food and said it was what they normally provide so evidently not the chef's night off. At best the Cornish Arms in Pendoggett is pub grub but not authentic Thai.

Pleasant dining area at the front, and a back bar for the locals. Three reals ales on and decent, if not cheap, Thai food. Pad thai noodles were excellent.

The locals seemed to appreciate the Thai Buffet that was on offer when we visited. What no-one tells you until you get there is that a) you have to book the buffet (not a problem, we don't like Thai food), b) you have to reserve a table on theme nights and c) if you don't order any non-theme food before 7:15 pm, you don't get any food at all. The Theme nights are only advertised outside the pub, so you don't know until you get there! Be aware - Thursdays are Thai....

Welcome was friendly, service was quick, but food over expensive. Fish and chips, and two lasagnes came to 34.50. The lasagne, although delicious, was a medium sized-portion served with approximately 20 chips and in no way deserved the 11.50 price tag. There is a good range of beers, unfortunately the first one was warm - never a good sign when it's come from a hand pump.

Great beer and if you like Tai food then give this place ago (also do take away).

Holidayed in Pendoggett this year and didn't find a better pub in the whole of Cornwall. Good food at a decent price, good local beers and a cosy outdoors gazebo for the smokers amongst us.

Recommend booking at weekends if you want to eat, howevernever kept waiting longer than 20mins. when we didn't.

Ask Austin a question, any question, I bet you he will know the answer!!

You can only imagine our delight, when we popped in for a quick drink, to be confronted with the evenings entertainment: The landlady, Felicity, was busy chastising one of her customers for complaining that his food had been overcooked. We tried hard to avoid the entertainment; it was all but impossible as the landlady proceeded to crush her opponent for failing to have the back bone to mention the problem earlier or to consume his mussels within the prescribed 20 minutes of the starting pistol.
Just as we thought that the poor customer would be allowed to leave, Felicity increased her tempo for all to hear. We were all reminded how she had served may thousands of meals over the summer and only three had (who had been brave enough) complained. Her argument was so loud and terrifying that even the poor customers wife felt obliged to side against him. No doubt she felt that they would be allowed home early for compliance.
Having enjoyed the rare sight of a paying customer humiliated in front of a sparsely populated bar, the wine must have gone to my head. I turned to thank the landlady and her gladiator for the evenings entertainment, pointed out that my wife and I normally prefer more welcoming hosts. I managed to escape with only a solitary well dont you come back either ringing in my ears.

Super pub, starred in the movie Saving Grace, dates from the 15th Century, Large Car park, beer garden, excellent real ales, the best locals, Very hospitable Landlord and lady. 2 miles from gorgeous Port Isaac, as seen on tv in Doc Martin, 7 letting rooms and fires lit all winter with great food day and night.
