A bit too trendy for me being a fan of traditional boozers but it was full on a Saturday afternoon and they have musical entertainment in the evenings
Couldn’t stay long enough to hear the singer but this pub is a goodun

Pub has re-opened with a new female landlord, and is due for a refurb in the next month or so.

This pub has sadly closed down. It was a great pub that served the local community well. Sad the way the manager and staff were given very short notice of the pub's demise. I think they were treated very unfairly by the pub's owners. Thanks to Mike, Coster and Dominic. Also thanks to Hugh, Brad and Manjit. I wish you well in the future.

Dimly-lit pub straight out of the book of classic 70's boozers - no real ale, noisy, lageer-drinking customers and the stinkiest gents toilet since cleaning fluid was invented!

This used to be my lunchtime local, circa 1992, whilst I was attending the local college.

It is primarily a sports pub with 3 pool tables in their own little areas at the rear of the building and a few large plasma screens dotted about showing Sky Sports day and night. The Manager seems very friendly and was quick to finish playing the fruit machine to come and serve me and the prices are reasonable. Various standard lagers are available alongside Pride and John Smiths Smooth.

There is some outside seating in a small paved area and there is also a wooden smoking shelter to protect from the elements.

If I was in the area Id probably walk up to the Red Lion, but this place is an OK alternative.

Probably the best pub in the area: 3 pool tables, 4 plasmas & nice staff.

I moved down here not knowing anyone, went to a couple of pubs in the nearby area on my own , stayed on my own all night; went to the Milford Arms on my own, was on my own for less than 10 minutes before being invited to share a drink with various friendly people, I'm now a regular in this place, because the beer is nice the bar staff are hilarious and the mix of people you get in there is broad, come from all walks of life but have one thing in common... FRIENDLY and up for a good laugh, to me that's what pubs (and life) is about! And I've never ever seen any trouble in that pub! Sunday Roast is perfection in itself. Home from home.
Tony. Play Up Skyblues. I gave it a 9 out of 10, (to get a 10 it has to be in heaven with only girls aloud in except me, nekkid, so impossible then.)

I was interested to come across the Milford Arms. I worked in this pub 22 years ago during my OE from New Zealand. It had just been refurbished and it was a picture, huge lunch trade, modern decor for those times and a great crowd during the weekends. It was managed by a guy called Brian Box and the head barman was Frank Fitzgibbons the quintessential Irish barman. I recall the first job Sunday mornings was gettng the beer delivery in from the dodgy delivery we used to get.
I have fond memories of this pub and wish the new managers well. I will be sure to call in when I next visit London.. Chris Morgan, Queensland , Australia

Nice to have this pub still in the area. Like a previous poster says. It has lost that rough vibe. Good beer and atmosphere

Went in there last night for the first time since it's been refurbed and was surprisingly impressed.

It's now a lot brighter, more seating and doesn't seem to have that rough vibe that it did about 4-5 years ago.

Nice selection of beers, spirits and soft drinks together with impeccable service and manners from the pretty Irish barmaid.

Re-opened in the Summer under new management.
Re-decorated in plain pub style with wood blinds at the windows. Now serves london Pride.
New kitchen so it looks like they are making a go of the food.

Now appears closed for good. Will it ever re-open? This place has executive flats written all over it..

20 odd years ago a brilliant pub Brian was a great laugh, Lotus kept busting his balls over lock ins. Joe, Brian, chris, robin, H, Paddy, all great drinking partners.

What a dive! I always think this Pub has closed for business judging by it's ramshackle state, until I look more closely and spot the customers inside with their knuckles scraping the floor.

A big pub, with potential to be good, but as it stands at the moment, a dirthole of the first variety.
TheGP - 9 Aug 2004 16:27
The one time I came here it was dark, unfriendly, and stank of something awful. I haven't bothered going back.
nene - 4 Jul 2004 18:43
I guess my original comments were too scathing to remain eh? Needless to say the degeneration of this once great pub is all down to the South African woman who took it over and proceeded to add things like her living room sofa and , I can barely bring myself to say it..., office chairs. This was one if Isleworths greatest. Now it's a shell of it's former glory.
Good for: Might just get something from the beer garden in summer. And the duke box may have a few good tunes left on it.

Great homely pub, could do with a re-dec but has a nice friendly environment. Recently have been introducing D.Js and discos. Custom seems to be picking up again. Its a great great pub, just needs people to give it a go!!
