Popped in for a swift Beck's Blue on my way home last night. Is there a by-law that states that all pubs in Kilburn High Rd must charge £3.80 for said item, for which gideon osbourne takes very little due to its meagre alcohol content?

this pub has pretensions to be better than it is.
I have used this pub on a number of occasions and each time the food has got steadily worse untill two nights ago i was served a meal that was raw in the middle and cold.this was sent back to the kitchens and the management informed.the whole pubs attitude is one of DONT CARE.
if your going for a pint its ok, if your going for food DONT.!

Large pub on the main road but away from the centre of Kilburn. Doesn't seem sure what it wants to be - there's a large restaurant area at the back, there were several families in there with kids but also a couple of (silenced) TVs showing football. Pleasant staff, standard selection of Youngs ales on. Better than some of Kilburn's other pubs but that doesn't take much doing.

One time, in the not too distant past, this was an old school bar/lounge Young's pub serving the best pint of proper beer in Kilburn. Now it's some kind of dark hole - not a pub, nor a restaurant but some kind of dismal mish mash bar with a few sofas and high chairs. I tried a pint of Young's Special which was diabolical. Even the lager was garbage.

Three room pub (public bar, saloon bar, dining/function area) with Sky Sports (not sure about ESPN), occasional music. A good pint of Young's bitter (I think Special and Bombadier are also available). Menu is British pub food plus some European dishes and well priced and the fish & chips were fine.

I went in to this place a couple of years ago and remember it seeming really unpleasant: dark and unwelcoming. Went in again recently and it seemed very different - very much an unmodernised locals' pub, for sure, but not unfriendly and with three or four ales from the Young's range. Bigger than I remembered it too. Not sure whether they've done something to it in the last few years or whether my first impressions were wrong, but it seemed OK. My only criticism were that there were some very scally local youths in there, some of whom looked clearly under-age.

Visited yesterday at lunchtime. Had the spacious lounge to myself albeit there were a dozen locals in the public watching footie. First impressions were not bad, a good pint of special and a friendly barmaid. Ordered a BLT and sat down - almost falling through the spring shot bench seat in the process. At least the uprights had a bit of substance. Had to wait 30 minutes for the sandwich which I had to chase. When this finally arrived it was two slices of sunblest, a couple of uninspiring rashers and some poncy salad from Waitrose. To add to the flavour both slices of bread had large finger indents...nice. That said, whilst it won't win any Egon Ronay awards or Pub of the Year if you want a decent pint of Real Ale near Kilburn Park then it's worth popping in.

The landlord is a complete and utter power freak who eavesdrops on his customers' conversations, making what he thinks are witty comments, but which are in fact the ramblings of an imbecile.

The food all comes out of packets from the freezer, which is then fried in diesel fuel and served with a snarl. "Excuse me," I heard someone say, "have you got any bread?" To which the landlord barked: "BREAD! of course I've got BREAD!"

A dingy, nasty hole of a place, I would definitely avoid it like the plague - especially the nasty landlord who is not cut out for this kind of work.

The Youngs refurbishment hit-squad have not found this place yet.

I found it an unpretentious old fashioned local serving a reasonably good pint of Youngs.

Not a pub for youngsters - one for us older gits.

Well worth popping in if passing by

Dire looking pub on the inside. Went there to watch the footy on a busy Champions League night with hardly anyone in there. Beer was ok, soft drinks were out of a bottle and totally flat and not to mention expensive. I bought a lemonade which was flat. When I mentioned it was flat I was given another which was only slightly better to which I wasn't happy still. The landlord then abruptly took the glass away and gave me my money back without me even asking. I questionned him on this to which he abruptly said, 'you've got your money back'. All I wanted was a soft drink and to watch the game quietly! Appalling service from the bloke who's meant to be a landlord! With so many pubs in Kilburn/Maida Vale area, you'd think he'd be doing more to beat the competition. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

This used to be a lively thriving pub some years back but it has lost a lot of its ambience. If you want cheering up in the Kilburn area I would give this one a miss. Yet the elderly local Irish seem to find it attractive. Strange. You can get a substantial meal there to slightly compensate for the overall dreariness.

Quite a decent Young's pub at the start of Kilburn. Probably one of only three places on the High Road that sell ale. Deserves a lot more business than it gets.
