The Bakers Arms, Waltham Abbey

I visited 10/06/2009 for a birthday celebration. BIG mistake!!! 1st they had no lime so couldn't have any cocktails so we ordered cokes/lemonades all arrived flat as gas machine not working, complained and returned for J2o's. 2nd - starters FINALLY arrived for 3 of the party of 5 but I then had to go to kitchen after long wait to remind staff we were still waiting for 2 more starters, NOT impressed. 3rd - 2 Steaks arrived mine was very well done instead of medium rare and my wife's steak was virtually cremated. At this point I had had enough and informed manager we were all leaving immediately to which he didn't seem surprised. My advice would be to steer well clear of this restaurant at all costs!!!.

The Merry Fiddlers, Fiddlers Hamlet

This pub has been taken over by new management and I must say how impressed I was with the restaurant food and the welcome I received by the staff. If you haven't visited yet I highly recommend you pay it a visit, I assure you that you won't be disappointed. Due to earlier management this pub doesn't have a good reputation, but times have changed for the better. Do your self a favour and pay a visit.
