The Loaded Dog, Leicester

i think the dog is a cracking student pub, and those that knock it for being a student pub just dont get it, it is unashamedly a student pub, and as long as it serves cheap beer, delivers good service and a great atmosphere then it is fulfilling its purpose. for a leicester uni student there really is no better student hangout, as it is chilled out with good food and comfy sofas during the day, big screen sport on all the time and is buzzing in the evening, espescially on a sunday night where drinks are only a quid. long live the dog

contrary to the previous comment i am a student and i drink in the rutland all the time, yeah it is a bit expensive but it does have an awesome range of lager and thats quite important actually, because not everyone sees a range of ale as being the be all and end all of a pub, and as for students being unable to venture out of the designated 'student pubs' that is rubbish, and if they didn't it would be because they dont enjoy being looked down upon beacuse we value cheapness and atmosphere over ale selection by everyone over the age of thirty. the rutland is a cracking boozer and i implore more students to visit it with loan money in hand
