The Man of Kent Ale House, Rochester

Definitely one of the better pubs around Rochester, located just a couple of minutes off the High Street. Always a good selection of beers and none of the usual mass produced ones. The bar staff and the people who frequent this place are generally friendly, and though it's true there are signs saying No Swearing, I've never heard anyone get pulled up on this. I do agree with some of the previous comments that it's a bit of a silly rule though because let's face it, the more you drink, the looser your tongue becomes!

One other downside to this pub, it is probably the smallest in Medway! This is a shame because they could easily fill it if it was about three times the size.

City Wall Wine Bar, Rochester

I'm struggling to think of anything positive to say about this place, but I've only been in of an evening so maybe it's ok during the day! If you like your beer bland and your music terrible (bog standard 'club' music) then this is the place for you. It seems to be busy every weekend so it obviously appeals to enough people although i'm guessing that a lot of them are the pre-Casino crowd.

The Kings Head, Rochester

Seems to have been closed for quite some time now, but that's not surprising given how bad it had become there. Ten years ago, it was one the better pubs in Rochester with a decent friendly crowd. I assume a change in management lead to the introduction of dodgy djs and the biggest of pub turnoffs - karaoke.
