The Unicorn, Ambleside

Sadly for me the introduction of Robinsons Ales into the area has led to a lowering of quality. I now tend to give these old Hartleys pubs a miss and look down the road for some Hawkshead brews. It was and could still be a nice pub, if it has some other Ales.

The Queens Arms, Birmingham

Its an interesting refurbishment, seeking to blend new and old. Nice pint of Directors. Music can be loud at times. A rare pub in the area, with choice of real ales.

The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham

An old favourite and my regular. Its a shame that they seem to find it so difficult to keep staff. Its too common to see different staff every month. But go here for the excellent beer and lovely building. They have theatre now as well.
