Excellent workingmans pub. Busy on Fridays.

The draught beers are all served much to cold.
Was met with a blank stare from the alleged landlady when I made this observation.
This is one of those pubs where the clueless bar staff are always right.

Fully agree with slerpy. Always best to leave your sense of humor at home when visiting the Hope.
Have never been in The Sun but will give it a try.

The fact that the pub lacks fruit machines and piped music is also the reason that there is no lager. Real ale drinkers generally have a sufficient quantity of brain cells to allow them to hold what are known as "conversations" renendering such additions redundant.

Was in here recently and was shocked to find that Crudgingtons "Old Fart" special bitter, dispensed from a barrel fitted with special brass gimbles was unavaiable!!!!
Any afficianado of Private Eye's "Great Bores of Today" will understand.

This pub is excellent. No Musak; no Sky TV just good beer a good conversation.
It's so good that my wife even likes it. This has never happened before in over 40 years of marriage.

As expected, Sheer Drop was £3.40 now £3.80. 8/- ( that's 40p for the young ) rise.
No price list in any bar. Don't know if this is illegal still.
Barstaff drying glasses on a teatowel ditto.
Food on Sunday was excellent but the pub seemed to be full of people who couldn't find their heads with both hands, OK ya!!
Following Tuesday evening was more pub-like.
Still early days.

Roumor has it that the Foxley is up for sale. Bad news if true, it will probably become a laundrette

This pub changed hands yesterday. Apparently it will close for a week for "refurbishment".
Having been in some of the new owner's other "refurbishments" on previous occasions; I don't hold out much hope for the future of the Wellie as a propper pub.
However; the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so let's wait and see.

The Frampton Arms, Moreton
This was a propper old school pub.
It has been vandalised and turned into a Lager & Burger bar;
staffed by teenagers.
Shame.
