Message to BITE site admin. Please could you find the time to remove from the facilities listing, that The Hope has Sky TV. If I thought this gem of a pub had Sky TV, I would not step foot in the door. Fortunately The Hope was recommended through friends, hence I did visit.

The Hope - Visited for the first time the other day. Good selection of well kept beers, good atmosphere, friendly, good food. Other things it's got going for it - NO SKY TV (despite that this sites says it has), no loud music. Will most definitely return to sample some more fine ales. Would be delighted to have this as my local.

Good well run pub. Fantastic range of real ales. Friendly, helpfull staff. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Carshalton.

This pub just gets better every time I go in. Pub grub is traditional, none of this 'trio of wossnames in a bed of bladeyblah' and plates are huge. Beer is always superb, with a nice range of dark and brown beers, some exotic lagers, and farmhouse cider. Just a note to the poster below - the beers are on a blackboard right in front of the door. ;)

Good range of beers, relatively local and tasted fine. Good atmosphere in the pub. One teeny complaint, the number of people sitting by the bar in front of the handpumps made it difficult to see what beers were on
