I have just popped in for a quick pint. Good to report that they still serve Youngs. B&B must sort out the website link.

Simply wanted to find out what was happening with this pub, being a local i haven't visited for a while due to previous bad experiences and though about maybe giving it another shot so i decided to look at the Butcher & Barrel website.
Why when i click The Kings Arms link do i get redirected to the KINGSWOOD ARMS ?
Not a great start but will give it a chance when it reopens.

No closed for refurbishment until early February when it will officially re-launch as a Butcher and Barrel pub. I hope they will stick serve Youngs.

Good beer, great food & impressive service.

I've been in for a beer 2-3 times over the summer. My 1st impressions were of a very pleasant pub (apparently refurbished earlier in 2011), with lovely decor, comfy seats & a sofa, plus a log burner.

We decided to try it for an evening meal, also because it's part of the www.tastecard.co.uk dining club. We will be back, we had a very great evening.

Received a warm welcome, the staff couldn't be more helpful. They explained that the pub had also changed hands since the summer & business is growing.

Although this appears to be a Young’s pub, it has a good range of Guest Ales, & some larger too.

We were served by Matt, who was very welcoming & accommodating.

The food was very tasty, hot & served swiftly. Attention to detail was good & the plates were hot, a great feature that's sadly rare these days. We were told that the although most of the food is cooked fresh in house, the ice creams &

Matt came back to us after I'd ordered apologising that my choice of pudding, a Cointreau sorbet, had sold out, & I chose another ice cream. Matt popped back a few minutes later explaining that although the ice creams & sorbets are produced by a local supplier the chief would try & make mine to order. Now that’s impressive service.

Seeing the last review, I know what bago5 stands for - the 5 letter word begins with s and ends in e. The whole review is an almighty roland from the landlord.
