The Ypres Castle Inn, Rye

We ate there last Friday, the pub food was good, with fresh fish and reasonably priced. It would be a great pity that the good cooking and friendly service from the staff was spoilt by the landlord who was not there when we visited. We will go back because we are the sort of men that will not tolerate pricks and we are keen to meet "mine host"!

Duke of Wellington, Ryarsh

Beer is fine with a good pint of Harveys. Food is not good, crab pancakes fine, if you like a pool of melted cheese on top! Braised steak was tough. Staff very friendly.

The Lord Raglan, Staplehurst

We ate here on 20 May. Harveys excellent ,in very good condition and at proper temperature. The food is good pub fare, well cooked and tasty, however be aware they serve large portions so a main is enough. The locals order the meat and share chips and side salads.
Lots of Range Rovers and this is obviously the HQ of the local well heeled.

The Crooked Billet, Wimbledon Common

I have been using this pub for years. The beer is well kept and the food is good. Also there is plenty of room I and a number of colleagues will be celebrating our vainglorious past at Yuletide in this excellent establishment.

The Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn

We were in this pub in March 2007.Great pint of Rapper and brilliant atmosphere. When we were there the local ukulele group had a jam session which seemed natural and added to our enjoyment of this excellent pub.

The Lobster Pot, West Malling

The "Pot" keeps good beer. The Harveys is particularly fine.

It has managed to escape the "gastro pub" malaise which affects the others in the town.
