The Prince Albert, Deal

An absolute gem of a pub with real character on top of which serving great real ale with good service and a friendly welcome - A slight walk from the Train Station but well worth it...Can't wait to go back!

The Edgar Wallace, Temple

Only found the pub literally by accident having seen a flyer for the pub at the Great British Beer Festival...and, wow...What have I been missing!

Not only were their 8 (Yes, eight) top class real ales plus some fantastic food but equally impressive was the barman (landlord?) who seemed very knowledgable, friendly and curteous.

When in the Chancery Lane area I usually venture to The Castle and Spoons' Knights Templar (which are a copule of minutes walk from each other)...I'll certainly be stopping in the Edgar Wallace too from now on - Definitely a pub to recommend

Harlequin, Sheffield

Visited the Harlequin whilst the 'Floody Hell' Beer Festival was on in Sheffield back in August and was delighted with not only the pub and the selection of ales but also with the friendliness of the staff - Managed to get 3 'winners' in Durhams Citrus Pale Ale, Station Houses 3 Score & Kelham Islands Weirs Mi Wellied Don and would have stayed and sampled the other 5 real ales had I not been pressed for time. Can't wait for the Beer festival in just under 2 weeks time (Fri 23rd & Sat 24th Nov) - I'm making the trek up from Folkestone especially.

The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield

One of my favourite pubs in Sheffield - Very friendly and welcoming, great food and always an exceptional selection of ales to choose from - A must for any serious real ale drinker, it is always one of my first ports of call when ever I travel up from Folkestone to Sheffield.

The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton

Admittedly, the Wenlock Arms is not in the most glamourous area of London, but this gem of a pub is well worth seeking out - For the real ale enthusiast, I guarantee you will not be disapponted!

The Guildhall, Folkestone

The Guildhall is a gem of a pub with a warmly feel to the place. The food and Cask Marque Real Ale is top notch and the pub is a great place to have a tipple or two if ever visiting Folkestone.

Papa Joes Jazzlokal, Cologne

You are always assured a great time in PapaJoes - Great jazz, great atmosphere and great drinks.

Two tips:

1) Get there early if you want a seat - Papa Joes is the place to be seen and it always gets crowded.

2) Go easy on The Doctor!
