The Swiss Cottage, Shoreham by Sea

OK, 'meals' before anyone else picks it up.

The Swiss Cottage, Shoreham by Sea

Nice Pub - as long as you have eighteen children.
And lots of tattoos.
And live in a caravan.
And a dog, on a rope.
And don't understand that pubs who serve 2 eals for a tenner do so because they have to.
Hopeless. Shame as it's a great location - troube is it's just too big for anyone to have the money to do it properly.

How about a dog fighting night? Would go down well with the punters....

The Amsterdam, Shoreham By Sea

Goodness me Looi you don't eat out much do you. This place is hopeless. The second wost food in the town (after the Swiss Cottage). Actually no, I think this is worse.

Note to chef - Swordfish does not taste right with the Rosemary sauce you use for the lamb!

Hopeless. What a waste of a beautiful building and good location. No wonder the Red Lion can get away with charging what they do.

The Bridge Inn, Shoreham by Sea

Went there on Sunday after 3 attempts in a row turning up on spec and finding it fully booked - usually a good sign.

Excellent food, friendly service, and only 50 for 4 of us, 3 deserts, drinks, olives and curried cashews!

Great food all round and the honeycomb and choc chip cheeseckack is simply astonishing.

For my money the best pub food in Shoreham - beats the Crown & Anchor hands down and better value.

The Chequers Inn, Rookley

Good family pub. Food on the better side of family food and the play area is great. Also helps you can sit inside while kids use the equipment.

The Pointer Inn, Newchurch

Found this today by accident on the way to the Garlic Farm. This is a great pub for food - 4 amazing and very filling dishes and the presentation of the food was excellent. There's no childrens menu but - joy - they do more or less any dish off the menu for half price as a 'half portion'. Well a half portion roast was 3 slices of beef, 2 roasties, a huge yorky and veg selection so plenty for an adult!

Food on the upper price side but well worth it and with the half price for kids VERY good value.

They were turning diners away without bookings so worth booking in.

The Basketmakers Arms, Brighton

Worth a visit if only for the chilli and garlic bread! Top pub.

The Royal Sovereign, Shoreham by Sea

Proper boozer with a good reputation for roasts. Used to get a bit 'heavy' pre smoking ban. Nicer now.

The Buddle Inn, Niton

My wife got served a hair in her food here and because it was in a seperate vegetable bowl they worked out what percentage of the meal that was and offered me 1.60 back.

On the strength of that truly abysmal customer service I will never visit the pub again.

The Sun, Calbourne

Oh Dear. Stumbled on this pub on holiday and looking back it's no surprise it was so quiet.

A dreadful pub with very mediocre food, badly in need of some decoration. Maybe it suffers from being in the middle of nowhere.

But it deserves to be.

The Green Jackets, Shoreham by Sea

This is a great pub. Ate there with the family several times while my kitchen was being re-built and it never let us down. Have not had a bad meal there - even went there on mothers day and it was just as good.

I reckon it's got better in the last year or so. One of the best pubs in Shoreham for value and quality on food.
