On a beautiful autumn afternoon we were looking for a table in the sunshine with a pleasant view, good atmosphere and great food. We got all three at a fair price. Although the pub was busy serving Sunday lunches, it only took 20 minutes to cook duck breast beautifully pink and the veggies were still nice and crunchy, the roast pork was great and the portions were generous. Staff were efficient and the landlady was friendly. We'll go back again with guests any time, and be happy to sit inside when the weather changes. squirrelette - 27 Sep 2009 17:21
Been there a few times in the past just for the views from the garden but had crap food, beer & service so was pleasantly surprised to go in by chance a few weeks ago to find a music festival in full swing. The place was packed & buzzing so stayed, got hungry & had a great fish meal (served by some VERY pretty waitresses!) The beer was good & would happily have stayed longer & got pissed but was driving. Got chatting to some of the locals who said the new landlady had really turned things around - which seems at odds with some of the comments below. zimmerman - 10 Aug 2009 02:07

Imogen & Mark have brought some well nedded character to Shoreham, you are always made to feel welcome if it is just for a drink or a meal. Most of the locals are friendly and the staff are always pleasant. Every effort has been made to make the pub nice for visitors, locals, residents etc. Some comments have been made previously about the Hosts of these premises, all i can say is try running this business yourself and see how long you last and how long it takes for somebody to make unfair comments about you. As they say you cannot please everybody. Back to the Inn in question, everytime i have eaten there it has been superb and the quality and service have been second to none, the Beer is always well kept, a great range of wines and spirits (reasonably priced for a local Pub). The Bridge Inn has made Shoreham a good place to visit (about time) so one can say it should only get better! Good luck to Mark (not the happiest Chef in the world but Damn Good at it) & Imogen (the happiest host around) in the future and i wish you great success hadleyboy - 8 Aug 2009 15:57
I couldn't agree more with karakel and joe beers. After all the wonderful things i'd heard about the food here i thought i must give it a go. The rumours were true, the food is great but THE LANDLADY IS AWFULL! During my meal and couple of beers i witnessed the landlady embarassing and disiplining two members of staff seperately in front of the customers (the staff by the way are excellent and really do the pub proud), fake smiles at customers followed by quite cartoon like glares once their backs were turned not to mention her abrupt and arrogant approach to my wife and i. My over all impression of the landlady is that she does little work and swans around drinking excessively and projecting her undeserved authority over the remarkabley patient bar/ waiting staff. If she does any cellar work, this may explain why both pints of beer were flat and cloudy (no sdisrespect to fullers this is surley just as a result of poor cellar managment. Its a shame she is so fowl as the other staff were a joy and the food was amazing. I will not be returning purley on the basis that the ladlandy is intollerable. danthemann - 11 Jun 2009 13:01
