The Cardinal, Kingston Upon Thames

Not the best atmosphere or decor, but totally brilliant staff and service, with excellent food to boot ! .....

Would definitely go back, but they need to sort the decor out, and "create" a bit of atmosphere.

8/10

The New Inn, Ham

Back for the first time in just over a year, and sadly the place has not improved, poor service, shabby looking staff, overpriced food, and dowdy atmosphere.

Avoid like the plague, unless you are already dead !

The Hand and Flower, Ham

Have been into this pub three times since it has re-opened. First time i popped in to see what changes had been made and witnessed a full on brawl, with the council estate vermin in full swing, even Women fighting and rolling around on the beer sodden floor . Great start. Second visit and my Boyfriend and i were totally ignored by the bar staff when we tried to order a drink, by staff to busy talking amongst themselves to notice us. Ok, the third, and what will most definitely be my last time in there, my best friend had a drunken idiot in nylon tracksuit and white trainers sexually harass her by making a disgusting and lewd remark, when she mentioned this to the manager (?) he told her that the guy always does this and to just ignore him !

I gave this place a chance, as all businesses have teething troubles, but never again, as this place is full of idiots, seemingly from the local council estate, and is staffed by imbeciles who care not for honest decent people who are willing to spend money ..... Never again will i bother to set foot in there, and will take my money and spend it elsewhere.

The Black Bull, Reeth

Shame to hear that it's changed hands, the legendary landlord was 'Black Bob' and he was a true legend ...... good pub, not been there in 15 years must go back one day, lovely area, lovely people ......

The Royal Oak, Ham

Ok-ish pub, locals tend to be a little 'simple', spent an hour with my friend there and had an hour of locals leering at us, they clearly get very few Women in here. The staff were ok-ish, friendly enough, but the white wine we had was pure Anti-freeze ! Yuk ! tried the red wine and that was cold !!!
Ahhh crime of all crimes, don't they know that you don't sell red wine cold !

This pub could be really ok, if they maybe had more women popping by and less inbreds leering and dribbling at anything in a skirt. 4/10

The New Inn, Ham

A pub that looks good on the outside isn't always a winner on the inside.

Dreadful lacklustre service from bar staff who find it a huge effort to pull a pint for you and who have been clearly ordered not to smile or say 'Hello' 'Please' 'Thank you' or to possess any other such simple social skills, they are all like a bit of an Orwellian nightmare.

My Fiance and I ordered food which arrived cold after 45 minutes and (surprise surprise) was the wrong order, when I voiced my opinion I was told that the Landlord would come and talk to me, 20 minutes and ever so slightly warmer food later we were greeted by a scruffy unshaven arrogant idiot in a grubby apron who basically told us that there was nothing wrong with his overpriced-luke-warm excuse for food, and basically if we didn't like it we knew what we could do... Locals have said the management could do with some 'updating' and I can see what they mean !

A good looking pub from the outside, but in reality a 'Venus fly trap' which will suck you in and part you with your money with overpriced badly managed ales and awful food AND service. Do yourself a favour and head either for the Dysart down the road, which has real class, real ales and excellent food and service, otherwise the Legless Frog which is a new place which is fast gaining popularity for it's food and wines.

The Ham Brewery Tap, Ham

The new management has really tried hard with the decor, food and the beers, sadly they have not managed to eliminate the local scum that frequent this establishment and who gave it the 'infamous' tag in the first place. Get rid of the 'flotsam and jetsam' who are only there to spoil it for others and cause trouble, and you will find yourselves a decent pub with friendly staff, but that has sadly gained a reputation as a hangout for the fools in their cheap England football shirts and lager lout attitude.

The Alexandra, Hornsea

Sadly a disappointing pub with too loud music and poor selection of beer, wines and food ..... Service from the bar staff was good and polite though.
Shame that the 3 Hornsea pubs are not quite up to scratch as with all the tourism it gets it could benefit big time, somebody entrepreneurial take note !

The New Inn, Hornsea

Sadly awful and unwelcoming to outsiders, evenings full of rowdy locals with loud deafening music ..... not a pub for the faint hearted, with terrible beer and nothing decent in the way of a menu ..... gives Hornsea a bad name .

The Victoria, Hornsea

Very average pub with below average service and fare ...... Bar staff only friendly with their own friends but not with outsiders, I was treated with basic 'contempt' when trying to order some food and drink, the bargirl (?) couldn't be bothered to even greet me in a civil manner, pouring a glass of wine was a major task for the little ignoramus, no manners and no obvious social skills ....... if it were my pub she and the other so called bar staff would be out on their dumb little arses to learn some manners, and maybe to learn to pull a pint ....... Give this one a miss if visiting Hornsea, sadly the other two pubs are also bad and are full of 'inbreds' .......

The White Horse Inn, Beverley

Fantastic pub ..... A real time machine of a place, I can imagine it hasn't changed much in 50 years ..... love the smell of the old gas lamps that illuminate the place ( thankfully Brothers health and safety have missed this one ) Great Samuel Smiths beer too !
