The Anglers, Walton on Thames

Nice location, shame about the food. Not bad but ridiculously overpriced, even by London gastropub standards. Definitely not going back.

The Retreat, Ledbury

The best pub in Ledbury for music and general entertainment. Can't comment on the beer, I don't drink the stuff. Very pleasant and often quite raucous by the standards.

The Ring of Bells, Ledbury

Currently closed - the last landlady's son and his girlfriend were recently jailed for life for murder, I kid you not. It was awful when it was open but a change of ownership and a reopening may breathe some life back into it.

The Royal Oak, Ledbury

Nice old building - in dire need of some TLC but unfairly slated on other websites. The new landlords are very friendly, very professional and doing a good job of reversing years of decline. Better for a good value pub meal than for sitting over pints of an evening.

The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury

You don't go here for the beer. It is the posh hotel in town and very pleasant for the things that go with that, but very expensive. The lounge area has a log fire and is perfect for a drink and a paper on a cold winter's day.

The Prince of Wales, Ledbury

I live in Ledbury, have been to all of the pubs (well, you can count them on your fingers) and this is definitely the best value for food. The best pies I have eaten in a pub in many years. I'm not a beer drinker, though the Belgian strawberry beer isn't THAT awful, but there is certainly a good choice of real ales. Generally nice ambience, welcoming to children and dogs and all the staff are nice.
