The Ship Inn, Polperro

albajim - as friends of the bar staff, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I can assure you that it's nothing to do with the bar staff but the upper levels in management. The Ship is actually under 'the care' of the management of the Pilchards and the current tennants of the Ship appear to be being given the 'bums rush'.

It's a sorry state of affairs and a pub that has managed to build up a great reputation is now being slowly destroyed but it's out of the hands of the current sitting tenants im afraid.

The Eliot Arms, Saltash

for the last few weeks it's been managed by Tony and his family and has also now come under the wing of the landlord and landlady of the Jubilee Inn, Pelynt.

Jubilee Inn, Pelynt

avabeer - with regard to the pricing, it's not strictly controlled by st austell brewery as it's not a 'managed house' pub but a 'tennancy' so the owners do have control over most of the pricing be it food or drink. Saying that though the waiting staff are lovely and the food portions can be fantastic.

The Ship Inn, Polperro

This pub is rapidly re-establishing itself and is definately one of the premier spots in the village. The atmosphere has changed for the better since the refurbishment and the back room and seating area looks fantastic with the new roof, lights and slate floor. Sue and Danny, Kirsty and Paul are for ever welcoming and the food is of a very good standard and value. All the hard work will reap rewards I'm sure. I'd recommend it to any first time visitor to Polperro.
