On holiday and ended up at this pub in the most beautiful setting, was booked in for dinner at Looe but we all decided to stay and eat as the atmosphere was soo good.. Excellent REAL ales well kept and the food was excellent and at a good pub. There are not many left like this a proper english pub..

Sadly this pub has seen too many new landlords during the past few years. We went there today for lunch and a beer and quite honestly it has turned into a teenage creche. Even sitting outside in the sun the music from from the public bar was appallingly loud and although we asked if they could turn it down a little nothing happened. The beer is good and the sandwiches we had were good but this place is only suitable for undr 18s or the deaf!

for the last few weeks it's been managed by Tony and his family and has also now come under the wing of the landlord and landlady of the Jubilee Inn, Pelynt.

The pub has a solid selection of cask ales; the Doom Bar and Proper Job are well-kept. The food isn't too expensive, is properly home-made and nicely cooked. The fish & chips in particular is something to get excited about. On my visit on Friday night it was fairly busy but not packed/rowdy, with just the right amount of background murmur. A convivial evening can be had here, making this a very pleasant village pub.
