We're local business owners in Looe and recently held a 60th wedding anniversary celebration meal at the Jubilee Inn for some regular guests of ours. The friendly staff could not have been more helpful and were attentive without being intrusive. The food was fantastic for our party of 10 with almost all of us choosing something different. We weren't kept waiting long for our meals and when they arrived they were delicious and the portions were generous. We've been several times with friend to eat here too and the food and service has always been exemplary. The prices for food and drink are very reasonable and their bottles of wine are also good value. We like to sample from their special seasonal menus and as a vegetarian, it's so nice to get something a bit different like the stuffed red peppers ricardo - delicious! A firm favourite for quality, service and atmosphere.

Having just read the review by kconroy I cant believe this is the Jubilee they are describing! This is a really friendly inn, and my husband, little boy and I have enjoyed lovely meals there, and have stayed there regularly over the last three years. My son – who can be a handful at times – doesn’t run around and doesn’t make a lot of noise because he knows to behave and respect other people, especially when we are out or staying away from home, like we did when our mum’s and dad’s took us out. There’s a nice bar with two TV’s and a pool table. Lots of room outside, with a big patio and grassed beer garden, that he can run around in if he needs to let off steam! All in all this is a great family and dog friendly pub!

This is not a family friendly pub. I went for a meal during half term week (3/6/10) while on holiday. Our group included five adults, two teenagers and my two toddlers aged 2 and 4. I was made to feel very uncomfortable by comments and looks from the manageress - I was told to stop my children going anywhere near other chairs and tables where they might 'bother' other guests. They were to stay in their seats (difficult while waiting for food with toddlers). Playing pool in the room near the giant sky tv I was told we were making too much noise. Apparently, there was an A.G.M. elsewhere in the pub. Can u reasonably expect A.G.M quiet in a pub in the early evening? It turned out that the A.G.M. was for a local theatrical company. Clearly regulars get priority whatever their demands.

avabeer - with regard to the pricing, it's not strictly controlled by st austell brewery as it's not a 'managed house' pub but a 'tennancy' so the owners do have control over most of the pricing be it food or drink. Saying that though the waiting staff are lovely and the food portions can be fantastic.

I would just like to point out that I really did emjoy the food when i went to the jubilee, staff were great! I live in the local area and will always suggest it to anyone! But I say these things because that is my opinion, and i certainly did not post comments under a different name! All i will say, great pub, and please remember to respect others on this site!
