The Eldon House, Bristol

nice to see the pub has been given a new lease of life. Prices are reasonable and whenever I have been in there it has been quiet, which is actually quite a nice feature if you just want to chill. the only negative i could find though is that the landlord kept staring me out and wasn't the most talkative of folks...

The Travellers Rest, Pensford

Been to this pub several times. The pub has changed dramatically in the past few years, with now excellent food and a conservatory style restaurant overlooking fantastic views of the Chew Valley region. I really recommend this pub and live not to far away, but it is still worth the travelling distance! Helpful and friendly staff all round, a big garden that has been a treat during the summer.

The Waldegrave Arms, East Harptree

Really nice food, I had the chicken with stuffed banana covered in bacon - it was nice, trust me! Proper country pub.

The Railway Tavern, Fishponds

The Railway is a great pub, always bustling with a growing crowd of customers. The layout flows round the pub following flat screen televisions, and one extremely big TV great for sports. The food served is very reasonably priced and easily fills you up. It's tasty, and obviously fresh served by very friendly staff. I have tried the Scampi and Gammon which both tasted better than your standard pub meal in my opinion. Didn't venture into the specials board, but duck was one of the dishes listed.

If you live in Bristol, the pub is not far from the centre and I go out of my way to visit there from time to time. It's a cool out-of-town pub with a big garden away from traffic, always catching the sun!
