The Sir Roger Titchbourne, Alfold Bars

i think again this is one of those places that will be great when they get the right landlord. a fortune has been spent changing this into a very chic venue, now you need some people (not just young staff) who know how to run a decent pub/restaurant....whichever it chooses to be.

The Onslow Arms, Loxwood

the new people seem o.k lets give them a chance and hopefully we will end up with a nice pub again.

The Mucky Duck Inn, Tismans Common

i think the only reason these people survive here is the rooms....be fair there is nowhere else to stay, so he has cornered the market. i cannot understand in todays world of strict hygene how there are animals all over the place....beer is a food product after all. where are the e.h.o when you need them.

The Inn On The Lake, Godalming

this is a lovely pub on paper. I mean if you took it away from Mitchells & Butler, and put a decent publican in there. there is no direction, and the food is put on a plate by children, just out of college calling themselves 'Chef' this is the problem with this trade and it won't get better until we start employing people with flair and zest.

The Parrot Inn, Shalford

actually not bad, don't expect fine dinning, but an honest pub lunch not too dear.

The Jolly Farmer, Bramley

i did exactly what the owner says in his rant....i left when the atmosphere became too inhospitable. a shame as the beer is pretty good. there are many places within a short drive that are only too happy to take your money and smile.

Fox Inn, Rudgwick

are people still falling for this pubs self praise....famous for fish....where? the food is awfull at best and the staff don't care if you are there or not. a very shabby venue, try the barn further towards guildford for real cooking.

The Crown, Alfold

there are a temp management couple here at the moment which is a real shame. the beer was o.k but the clientelle are a little strange shall we say.

Alfold Barn, Alfold

this has got to be the most atmospheric place i have been in years. i went as i read a brilliant write up in the surrey advertiser, and i was not disappointed. the food is top notch and the staff are very attentive and friendly. customer service is not dead!

i think the pub is too sterile and has no atmosphere. i agree it is very busy.
