Big old round blue disc on pub facade was the first thing I used to see on waking up when I used to stay at my grandparents' as a child (they lived in Riverview, opposite). Have visited a few times as a grownup and the inside always appeared a little bare and soulless.
Typical K & B house, i suppose.

I've been popping in on and off into the Onslow for a few years and must say I think it is a lovely pub, good beer and I've eaten there a few times and the food has always been supurb.
I just wished I lived in Loxwood as I would frequent the Onslow most days.

Arrived at this pub by the canal. It was quite quiet but decided to stay and have a drink and food. The menu was varied but found that the prices were very expensive. We ordered three dishes an American burger, chillie nachos and chicken coq a vin, all dishes were between 9-12 pound. Unfortunately things went down hill from here. The chicken coq a vin which I would not recommend to anyone had two very tiny chicken wings well you could go to say they were not even a chicken wing they were that small, had three little mini carrots which looked as though they had been kept warm from the day before, stringy beans which you could not cut and to top it all I had frozen potatoes. Not impressed.

As a local it is with sadness and disappointment that I say what I do about this pub. Such a great location, such a lovely village but it is it's proximity to the canal which draws it's clientele. Locals avoid it like the plague. We have all given it a go but it is soulless, devoid of atmosphere and pizza on the menu???? Aren't there pizzerias for that? We ALL want it to be so good.
