The Ruby Lounge, Waterloo

We visited this place for the first time last night for friends leaving drinks.
Everything about the place was acceptable for a mellow Thursday night drinking session, not too busy, groovy tunes (not too loud) and comfortable couches.
The only thing that let this place down was the food, we spotted some menus on the table that offered some really nice sounding gastro style winter grub at very cheap prices (seemed to good to be true)
Once we reached the bar to order we were sadly informed that the only food they were doing was warm snacks...we ordered the prawns and the chicken platter.....the only way to describe it was that it was... Absolutely filthy!
Not sure why they would want to server this kind of muck to punters...
Chef, pull your finger out!!

The Drapers Arms, Barnsbury

visited this place on a saturday night and had a meal upstiars.
The staff were friendly, food was below average. The sausages in the sausage and mash had been reheated(possibly a few days old) and the Scallops in the pasta had a rather unpleasant strong fishy aroma.
I dont think we would return here for food again but downstairs looked and sounded very vibrant so would maybe consider returning here for drinks.

The decor in the upstairs room (white floor boards)gives the place a very unusual feel, kind of felt like eating dinner on an ice rink not in a cosy gastro pub.

Its very dissapointing to be served old food !!

The Regent, Islington

fast and friendly service even on a busy friday night after work. We ate a vege platter and a meat platter and both were very tastey (obviously fresh ingredients)We shared 4 pizza's and enjoyed every last scrap. The Pizzas in this place are the best in London without a doubt !!
more Ales on tap would make this a 10/10 for me!
