Crown Point Inn, Seal

Dubious about visting this pub after a disasterous visit last year, and reading about it in the local rags... But heard The Crown has a new manager... all I've got to say is a vast improvement has been made... Beers are well kept & the food & service is much improved, however, don't expect much conversation from the carving chef!

Duffy's, North Ealing

Ian went to a pub in near exmoor called the Miners Arms (? Spelling, it was a long time ago) with two Duffy's regulars Jan & Dave.

The Wheatsheaf, Rumbolds Hill

Love this pub... always get a warm welcome, like a long lost friend, great atmosphere, food fresh and always good, Ales are well kept but are only Badger beers and Hofbrau lagers but they can't help that! And even though the landlord and landlady have had to stop live music due to complainers who shouldn't have bought a house next door to a pub, they are trying new ways to entertain their customers so I am defo booking tickets to their 1st comedy night in Feb! Need something to lighten our lives in what is becoming a terminally dull place to live!

The Queens Head, Icklesham

visited this pub the other day, after hearing a recommendation, nice pub, plenty of chimney pots around to keep it busy, however, could do with a good clean up, quite dusty & covered in cobwebs!! beer in good condition, but the food was not much to write home about, typical pub fare, needing a bit of an update. The waitresses are efficient, but not into interaction with the customers & the two barmen were more intersted in having a joke amongst themselves. I can see why this pub did win pub of the year, the customers make it as the ambience was provided by them. I think the pub is resting on its laurels since winning its accolade!

The New Inn, Winchelsea

I visited this pub today, for the first time in a couple of years, myself and my partner tried the beers even though they are Greene King, found them to be well kept and in condition, even though was very busy, the lady serving in the restaurant, I think the landlady, ensured that every-one was welcomed & attended to. Enjoyed the food, everyone around seemed to enjoy themselves, and the kids were given colouring books to keep them quiet, (nice touch!) Will return especially for the Ruddles! I hope they continue because this pub is very much improved after the last visit.
