Nice pub, good beer and lovely beer garden. Will eat next time I go. TheTrooper - 2 Aug 2011 21:24
Superb pub that I’ve been to a couple of times whilst visiting the area. Last time was on a recent Sunday when bad weather forced us inside from the beer garden and into the equally pleasant surroundings of the pub itself. Although it was absolutely heaving on a Sunday lunch time, the extremely hard working and pleasant staff managed to find a spare table. Food was extremely good, Darkstar Hophead and Harveys equally so. If you want guaranteed table inside, it’s clearly advisable to book in advance. I’m aiming to get down again in the summer when I get back in that beer garden and try and get through all the ales the Queens Head has to offer. Wonderful place! Johnny_B - 16 Jun 2011 08:25
Visited on a Saturday evening. Lovely country pub. Beer and food excellent, good selection of both and reasonable prices. Enjoyed a few glasses of Hophead (Dark Star). Very Book early if you wish to eat as it gets very busy. Although we enjoyed the Robin Hood down the road, this pub has the edge. bob.the.wop - 14 Jun 2011 21:00
A delightful, busy rural pub. The main attraction is the spectacular views over Rye and apparently as far afield as Thanet, with a beer garden on either side of the pub. The interior is nothing to sniff at either, traditional and becoming. Staff were friendly and attentive, even on a packed Bank Holiday. Beers available on our first visit included Thornbridge Jaipur and Wild Swan, GK IPA and Abbot. There was a fifth beer available from the macro end (since forgotten) and a Weltons pump clip had been turned about-face. The Jaipur was sheer perfection, a picture of clarity served cool but not cold with that familiar biting grapefruit whack to the taste buds. The best pint of Jaipur I've had all year and at £3.70 a pint it ought to have been. Our Greek salads were plentiful and tasty, if unspectacular for £7.95 a pop - but arrived remarkably quickly considering every table was taken and the car park was a battlefield. All in all a very positive experience and would definitely recommend and return when in the area. dubbel - 26 Apr 2011 20:06
