The Britannia, Richmond

Been walking past this pub for months & looking at the menu, finally got around to going on Saturday & wished we'd tried it sooner.
Sat out in the garden with the papers, whilst very friendly staff served us nice cold beer & delicious Britannia tapas. Been craving their scotch eggs ever since. Can't wait to return to sample some more of the menu.

Rose and Thistle, Rockbourne

We all enjoyed Mother's Day lunch here yesterday.
I have to say I haven't been so impressed by pub food for such a long time.
The roast potatoes were amazing, none of this deep fried rubbish you get in so many pubs now and the banoffi pie was to die for.
It's very popular and has limited parking so make sure you book and get there early.
I'll be returning very soon !

The Old Bull and Bush, North Hampstead

I love the Bull & Bush. I haven't been so impressed by a pub in a very long time.
The food was delicious, I had the yummy fish cakes and my partner had spit roast chicken which literally fell off the bone it was so tender.
The pub is so cosy & welcoming , especially when they have the open fire going and the spiced apple toddy set me up very nicely for a chilly walk home.
I'll be back very soon !

The Angel, Highgate

We ate here for lunch last Sunday and I was so disappointed. Friends of ours had been a few times last year and were always impressed but we all agreed this was not a great pub.
We were initially seated between what can only be described as two sets of rather pungent toilets.
After some persuasion they agreed to move us.
We all had the roast, I had beef, the rest chicken.
The beef was tough, fatty, greasy and full of gristle.
The "roast" potatoes were slimey on the outside and undercooked on the inside and the whole lot was swimming in gravy that had the consistency of water.
Pudding was ok, not as good as when my friends had eaten there before. Maybe this place has changed hands recently but I wont be hurrying back.

The True Lovers Knot, Tarrant Keyneston

It's a very nicely done out pub in a beautiful setting. The painfully slow service was such a let down, and the food was average, nothing special.
Would be great for sitting out side for a drink or two in the summer but I'd think twice before eating here again.
