Good pub, decent selection of continental lagers.

We ate here for lunch last Sunday and I was so disappointed. Friends of ours had been a few times last year and were always impressed but we all agreed this was not a great pub.
We were initially seated between what can only be described as two sets of rather pungent toilets.
After some persuasion they agreed to move us.
We all had the roast, I had beef, the rest chicken.
The beef was tough, fatty, greasy and full of gristle.
The "roast" potatoes were slimey on the outside and undercooked on the inside and the whole lot was swimming in gravy that had the consistency of water.
Pudding was ok, not as good as when my friends had eaten there before. Maybe this place has changed hands recently but I wont be hurrying back.

Without a doubt the worst experience i have had in a pub for a long time. There were two staff on, one of whom ignored my friends and i for about 10 minutes whilst she flirted with her boyfriend even though there was no one else at the bar.

The food was disappointing - when we ordered, we were given no indication of how long it would take. The one chef working was working like a mad man trying to get food out, and when it arrived over an hour late it was disappointing to say the least!

I will not be going again.

Thought it was a good place to have a quiet pint with some mates until one of the bar staff (mentioned in another review) after two years of drinking there, asked us for ID??? Very arrogant and condescending seeing as we are all over 21! We were happy to all show our driving licenses and tell him where to go! No more Angel for us, back to the Wrestlers! Another thing, the toilets are a disgrace, as mentioned in another review.
