The Mayfly, Chilbolton

A great pub which was great to visit on the wayback from Dorset to London. I have happy memories of going there with my father. The outside and location is great however on the inside the food is over priced and there are way too many signs. Feels like you are in the middle of a traffic roundabout ! If they reduced the number of signs and improved the provision of food then it would truely be a great pub rather than one living on its former glory.

The Abinger Hatch, Abinger Common

Decent pub with ok food abit on the pricy side and the lack of staff can mean you end up waiting to be served. That said lots of atmosphere and a nice large garden which comes into its own on a sunny Sunday. Been a number of times and will make the effort to go again.

Stephan Langton Inn, Abinger Common

Great pub with really decent food. I know that as it is a walkers pub the decor can seem a little bit rough and ready but thats what you get for being in the country. Well worth a visit and I would recommend that you book on a Sunday. The food is worth the effort of getting to the place.

The Spotted Cow, Lower Bourne

Had a decent meal and enjoyed ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were accomodating and wanting to provide a decent service. Will be back again next summer.

The Barley Mow, Tilford

Went to the pub last summer and had an ok meal. I had forgotten how small it was inside and the staff did seem abit off hand. The bbq out the back seems to be a good idea and there were lots of local families around. Could be a bit better with a change of attitude from the staff. Shame as the location etc is great.

The Cricketers, Epsom

The pub does some good meal deals and is well worth a visit when the offers are on. Good location but it is still part of a chain and so does lack some characture but overall not bad.

The Amato, Epsom

Went once, a locals pub with not a great to recommend it. There are better in the Epsom area. Will not be back.

The Onslow Arms, West Clandon

Great pub with a blend of upmarket resturant and pub attached. Eaten at both and had decent meals from both. Atmosphere is great and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The Rupert Brooke, Grantchester

Recently visited the pub after a few years away. Was pleased with the changes that have been made and enjoyed a decent meal with a friend. Staff were attentive and the food was good. Eton mess was great. Well worth a visit. Will go again when in the area.

The Poacher, Elsworth

Great pub with friendly staff, decent food and a delight to visit. Went recently with friends and a small toddler. Even though the pub has changed hands the staff made every effort to look after the child and keep it happy. The food was good and quickly served. Not too sure about the wall paper next to the fire though ! We will be returning next time we are in the area.

The Telegraph , Putney Heath

I have mixed feeling about this pub. During the week I have taken friends to it and have a great time with the food, staff and atmosphere being great. However a recent visit for Sunday lunch was a disaster with food arriving late, rude staff and the kitchen closing. The pub suffers from a lack of capacity in the kitchen and is a victim of its own popularity. I contacted the owners of the pub to air my views but have had no reply. It appears the pub relies more on image than service which is a shame as it has a nice feel about it. Best to be avoided during busy periods.
