Oh dear! Very poor service and food. Bitter extremely unpleasant as well. Staff were very slow and food very average..... Wouldn't bother with this one!

Rupert Brooke's best member of staff (Billy was it? manager with long dark hair and a slight accent) has moved up the road to the Green Man. This could be the last nail in the coffin of this truly ridiculous pub???

New management moved in last month perhaps they can stop the decline in standards.

Before booking a table at this part pub/part restaurant I would read some of the reviews in the Cambridge Evening News.

Part pub, part restaurant.
Great food.

I'm partial to Stowford Press (which they serve), but don't care much for beer.

About a year ago they served the best pub burger (with blue cheese and mushroom) I've had *anywhere* in the world. (No, I really mean that).

Revisited this weekend and they've tweaked the menu somewhat. (The burger's still great, but it used to be exactly what I liked.)

Vegetarian friend was mistakenly served a non-vegetarian pie. The staff were immediately apologetic and the error was corrected. The manager also came over to apologise. We were satisfied with their response.

They appear to be redoing the garden at the moment.
