Millstone Inn, Barnack, Stamford

Bar staff could try a little harder in here. They're just a little too brash for my liking. New chef (who owns or manages the places - since it was part of the Snooty group)really trying with menu and quality of the food. Bar staff just letting him down.

Err not for me thank you.

The Willoughby Arms, Little Bytham

Current management have been in place for nearly a year now. Good food evenings and weekends. Flat roof extension to rear with picture window now refurbished and refitted and looks so much better. Can be a little cold in winter (small fire and large bar). Looking forward to next beer festival - this coming Bank holiday. Pub quiz on quiet nights every 4-6 weeks - quite good fun. Recommended.

Millstone Inn, Rutland

A pub in need of refurbishment as it looks very tired and quite shabby. Public bar really not up to much. Saloon bar quite dull and empty. Regular selection of lagers and low end bitters.

Essendine Hotel, Stamford

Laughable that this has been voted 6 out of 10 by one user. This pub closed a number of years ago!

The Green Dragon, Rutland

Serve lunches through the week with roast on Sundays. Two bars. Plenty of regulars but not clicky. Staff are busy but attentive to your needs.
Great for pub grub, bargain Sunday roast (booking advised) and good selections of beverages. No cards though to be sure to visit the cashpoint first!

The Finch's Arms, Hambleton

An odd pub. During the week the garden is empty and the bar has a few old faithfuls at the counter. But despite lack of customers you should expect slow bar service - the regulars seem to get priority treatment with barstaff who feel able to ingnore waiting customers.
On a sunny weekend there is the view from the garden which is outstanding, however you will have to endure very slow food service (45-90 minutes) and bar service that will make you pull your hair out in frustration.

In short if the car park is full seriously consider going somewhere else because the poor service will spoil your day.
