Flares, Darlington

Torrid place. Have been twice and lost the will to live on both occasions. The second time I was there the only tap on was stella.

This place is chavtastic in every way.

The Linthorpe, Middlesbrough

has been my local this past year. the beer is quite nice and I don't care about the lask of branding. Sometimes it attracts some tossers but you will struggle to find somewhere in boro that does not.

decent pub. better than the nearby yellow rose.

The Corner House, Middlesbrough

Decent young persons bar. Good events are hosted here. Its not always the cheapest of places and I preferd the place before it was re-launched but its still a good bar.

Chicago Rock Cafe, Middlesbrough

A very poor bar based on a cheap gimmick.

Isaac Wilson, Middlesbrough

Its a wetherspoons, its okay for a few cheap ones unless its full, then it becomes a hassle.

Barracuda Bar, Middlesbrough

Decent large bar with ample seating and ok music. It doesnt stand out as a great pub or a nasty pub. Its just there.

Placid Cafe Bar, Middlesbrough

Relaxed EU styled bar. I agree that its a great place to hang out during the day. Its sometimes too quite for a small group of people but its a really nice environment.

Square One, Middlesbrough

Its a decent bar for during the day and night. Its not the most classy joint but its modern and clean and every time I go people are friendly.

Very cheap drinks in the week

The Walkabout, Middlesbrough

not expensive, good larger selection, live music, upstairs is great if you need to cool down. Good late licence bar. Hardly ever any trouble.

Ignore racist remarks and take a look for yourself.

The Crown, Middlesbrough

Its a strange place.

Its great because:
Its a massive bar
Its open late
The drinks are cheap
The music is great
Its relaxed in terms of dress code

Its crap because
It gets incredibly full
It gets warm beyond belief
The drink quality is not very good.
Its dirty
The service is often slow.
(Not to say the staff are slow, they seem proficient at their jobs. The problam is the bar is long to an amazing extent. I have seen bars half its length with more staff working)

If you dont care about nice surroundings and you dont wan't to go home but you can't be botherd with a poncy or chavtastic club then this place would do fine.

Camels Hump, Middlesbrough

Okay place but the southfield is so close by I would much rather walk that extra 2 min and go there instead. That aside it is still a good pub and if the southfield was cramed then I would consider the hump as an alternative student bar.

The Dickens Inn, Middlesbrough

Has been refurbed and has changed from a standard student bar with a slight sports theme to just another trendy bar with cream walls purple lights and leather seats. Drinks are mostly unimpressive and priced at the top end of the student pub range. The beer garden is still a plus and the private room upstair is still a good venue for partys.

The Star and Garter, Middlesbrough

Pretty good pub, good food, nice pint. A bit of an 'old geazers' bar but if that doesn't bother you then you could do a lot worse.

The Southfield, Middlesbrough

The best student pub in the area. Strikes an ideal balance of tastes. Cheap drinks clean for a student bar, good dukebox, good selection of drinks. Pool tables big screen. Safe environment. Does everything right without any frills.

The Masham, Stockton On Tees

Nice pub, black sheep is an advantage and its very nice inside. Has a large beer garden.

Food is good also.

Stadia, Darlington

Its seems an okay bar, not my kind of place. Too many toni&guy hair cuts inside but there are plenty of worse places. Its clean and not a dive.

The Turks Head, Darlington

Had after the refurb been an exellent place. Camerons Creamy is a nice pint and the prices are fairly average for a pleasant pub. The beer garden is very large and is a big advantage to the place.

Has since changed management and I'm not sure they can decide what to do with the place. I was suprised to hear the crazy frog being blasted out by the sound syetem. Unsurprisingly there were very few punters inside.

Hopefully it won't lose its way as it was one of the last good pubs for young people.

Number 22 Alehouse and Canteen, Darlington

Fantastic pub. Great Ale, nice atmosphear.

I'm not normally a large fan of light ale but with white boar I make an exeption. Fantastic drink.

The sole draught larger Oranjeboom (Dutch: Orange Tree) whilst not the best larger in the world still beats the pants of the carlings and stellas of this world. But who cares, if you come to this pub you should be drinking the cask ales, it would be rude not to.

A very interesting pub with its long and thin layout and dark interior is very welcoming and friendly environment.

Nothings perfect, the bar can get paked to the rafters on a weekend. This is testament to the quality of the place and if thats the only fault with a pub then you know its somewhere special.

9/10
