The Rowbarge, Woolhampton

was disappointed to find this once charming old pub has been taken over and is now part of a chain. The food was ok,certainly nothing to encourage me to come back and the whole place looked like it needed a good clean up. What's the point of spending a condsiderable amount of money on the place, trying to make it 'modern' when there is chipped paint and tiles falling off the walls. At least in an olde worlde style pub these things can add character. In a place that's trying hard and failing to be a Young's pub it looks terrible.
Certainly won't be coming back anytime soon

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets

was really surprised to read the last couple of negative reviews. I regularly use the St Margarets both with my family and friends. Ok, so sometimes there's a wait on food (you should see how busy it gets in there) but generally it does good, pub food, better than most around the area. Was in there last night when they were doing a French Themed night and the Coq Au Vin and the Beef Bourguignon was fantastic. The staff are always really helpful, I always ask them what they recommend and the specials are usually pretty good.

The Town Wharf, Old Isleworth

strange, strange, strange pub. Great location, but seriously nothing else. Felt like we'd walked into a masoleum. Is the downstairs bar ever open? Is there ever any customers?

The Zetland Arms, South Kensington

I've been to this pub several times since working aroubnd the area. Why is it so impossible to try and use the toilets here without having to put on waders and take your own loo paper? Other than this, it's just a typical old boozer, don't expect too.
