The Font and Firkin, Brighton

this pub changed drastically with the refurbishment. the scruffy student image has disappeared, which is a bit of a shame. good place if you're looking for bargain cocktails - 2 each on last count.

The Victory Inn, Brighton

best place in the south lanes if you fancy a sit down with a jacket spud or baguette. may i recommend roast veg & houmous.

The Great Eastern, Brighton

best in the early evening because this cosy pub gets a bit cramped. a very cosy, comfy pub.

The Office, Brighton

brilliant for a summer drink in the sunny beer garden (probably the best in brighton. incidentally, can anyone find a spacious, green beer garden in brighton?) great thai food for 5 ish. excellent.

The Duke of Norfolk, Brighton

friendly atmosphere, book-lined walls and games to play while waiting for the mouth-watering food.

The London Unity, Brighton

a great find. popular with students - we've had great food there (esp. sunday roasts), old 50s jukebox & friendly staff.

The Lake Huron, Ryde

quite old fashioned little pub, separate room with a pool table, old piano, pub games. worth a look.

The Cock and Bull, St Peter Port

best pub in guernsey - usually has live music on (open mic on tuesday and irish live music, as i recall)

The Ship, Soho

always the first port of call for meeting up. the ship is an oasis of calm in the stormy seas of soho.
