The Toby Carvery, Redhill

eaten here a couple of sunday lunchtimes. for 8.50 for a roast not at all bad not as good as my wife's but hey that would take some beating! beer is good and service is fine. bog standard but you pays your money and you takes your choice. I turned down the 'yorkshire comedy pudding' - server look bemused!!!

The Tower, Redhill

first pub we drank in since moving to Redhill. service was quick and friendly. beer was fine. music a bit too loud. I've drunk in a lot worse pubs than this. maybe coming from london we've got low standards but it did the job for us.

The Oval Tavern, Croydon

Great! Went to the Thursday blues night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Good music, good beer, good crowd and friendly service. Nice.

William Stanley, South Norwood

and I had a meal there the other day - steak and chips - it was fine and really reasonably priced.

The Builders Arms, Croydon

In there a couple of Saturday nights ago. First time for a while as not one of my fav pubs but pleasantly surprised - busy - Carling lager was fine - friendly atmosphere - good service.

Sunday morning when the sun is shining and the front is opened up this pub is hard to beat. And I'm being serious. Sit and drink a coffee on the food side of the pub away from the nutters. Glorious!
And SE25 is a great place to live.

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

Busy Saturday night - service quick - youngish studenty crowd. Really cheap beer (Alpine lager 2.14 a pint!!) but I find the Sam Smith lager almost undrinkable and there is NO alternative. It is so dry and cloying - I tried everyone of their lagers - they are all the same. Yuk.

The Old Thameside Inn, London Bridge

Very busy Friday night - despite this service was quick - drank Heineken lager which was OK (7 pints no hangover) 3.30 a pint. Gents toilets not good - smelly, over-flowing urinal, and too small for a busy pub.
