The Freemasons Tavern, Hove

Have to disagree with the poor reviews - it is busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so best to get there early if you want a seat for the evening.

Music is good and the service generally OK given how busy it can get. Spent New Year's Eve 2006 there and we had a great time!

The Sunday roast is excellent value and (Veggie)recommended, though I was a tad dissapointed with the Valentine's Day meal we had back in 2005 - maybe that since has improved.

The Brunswick, Hove

A big pub - the refurb now includes a stage for live acts and has a large garden patio area out the back.

Was a tad cold though even with the roaring large fire!!!

Food took a while to be served when it wasn't busy during the week, however, the staff were very smiley and polite so that compensated and the Ploughmans was good!

The Blind Busker, Hove

The name change (in reference to a local busker)included a total refurb, stripped floorboards and new decor.

Very popular in the summer as the pub has a patio overlooking Church Road which catches the afternoon/evening sun, though plastic glasses are only allowed outside!!

The Wick Inn, Hove

Personally I like the Biscuit Factory, I've never experienced the slow service mentioned previously.

Not sure on the 'TINY' comment. There is the main bar area with seating, and behind it are separate booths for a more cosy atmosphere - plus there is a further bar and seating upstairs.

I will agree that the khasi's are not the best and a mission to get to, that aside I recommend it for a night out

Babylon Lounge, Hove

About 4 years ago the Pussycat club had their New Years Eve party here and it most definitely is not a clubbing venue, therefore, avoid if any similar event is organised, and judging from the comments below just avoid!!

The Slug and Lettuce, Hove

Average at best, though at least you can sit outside when the weather's good

Though it's not as awful as the Weatherspoons bar opposite which is to be avoided at all costs.

The Seafield Inn, Hove

Felt like we had stepped back in time 30 years - most definitely a locals pub - won't be rushing back

The Albion, Hove

Classic old school boozer and agree with the comment that the decor dates back to the 1970's!!! - so if that's your thing you'll like this place

Atlas Lounge, Brighton

The Atlas Lounge is not necessarily somewhere you'd look to spend the night drinking.

However, it is a great place to go for lunch/dinner with it's very relaxed atmosphere and surroundings - the food is good, though the service at times be slow when it is busy.

Enough choice for Veggies, and the Nacho platter is plenty for two people and is great value
